Cut Mingo to keep Camden Brown

Mingo has looked good this Pre Season and he has good Special Teams value.

Given that both may be inactive on Gamedays, I think it would be better to go with the younger option, Brown, than Mingo.
They may will likely be able to get Anthony Smith on the Practice Squad so that will give the 2 young receivers to groom for the future.

Mingo is definitely a free agent next year. And not one you’re paying to keep. In fact, I think he’s adjusted his contract just to come back this year.

Pickens is also a free agent.

So at minimum you’d be looking at 1/3 of your current receivers, if you did keep all six, potentially gone next season.

Brown has shown more in one training camp and preseason than Mingo has in his entire career, now going into his fourth year.

Keep the obviously more talented WR and figure out how to replace Mingo on STs. He is not irreplaceable.

Some people are acting like Mingo is better than Brown just because he's made a few catches and barely stopped someone from returning a fumble all the way back instead of just 50 yards. Yeah, he had the long td catch from Milton but he beat a backup on a nine route. Let's not forget this guy couldn't do jack except block for a year and a half since he's been here.

Brown's contested catch ability is special. If he can improve his route running he could be a real weapon, especially after a year in the weight room.

mingo has been in the league 3 years going on 4 and has never improved. in fact he has regressed. he is in the last year of contract. as the 5th WR, he won't be active or playing much. and he is a FA next year. would we want to keep him? if he is 5th WR. why. there is no upside.

I think the team goes 6 deep at WR but I was operating under OP's premise we are keeping 5. I havent seen Brown on special teams.
