sorry folks but he has to go! why are we waiting on a kicker to develop??
this is not a skill position player where he has to get used to the game....he is expected to perform the few times his number is called!!

he is altering our approach on drives and is costing us points its time to start with cutting buehler and work our way down ...

and i have to apologize and eat crow....leonard davis was horrible and hopefully his benching motivates him, but im done defending him until he gets it together

Probably because there isn't a better option out there. Kickers are missing kicks all over the league this year. Just isn't a better option. And we can't afford for Beuhler to be cut because this teams special teams coverage is DOO DOO. You see what happens when a returner gets a chance at a bad kick.

Why cut him now? It's a little too late for that. Might as well see if he improves throughout the season so we don't have to look for another kicker next year. Not like we've got a lot to lose at this point.

It's hard to say whether he's costed us any games at this point, but it could be argued that he has. For a team with so much riding on this season, I'm not sure why we risked it. If we were rebuilding or something? Sure.

It's the easiest problem to fix that we currently have.

This is a good point. You might as well just ride it out at this point and let him improve.

Everytime that guy steps up to even kick an extra point, my heart stops. Sort of like the last days of Kevin Smith or Drew Bledsoe.

Everytime someone threw the ball Smith's way, you just cringed cause you knew it would result in a touch down, or everytime Drew Bledsoe dropped back to throw the ball, you just turned your head cause you knew a sack was coming.

agreed but he has to go those missed fg's kill alot of momentum and takes alot out of you especially after all the hard work of getting downfield

I was even nervous when he had to kick the XP to tie the game. And he almost missed it!!

Way too inconsistent to an NFL kicker right now.

exactly! when we got that false start on that pat i thought for sure a miss was coming lol...he is a big problem...down the stretch in important games how can we win with the game on the line with him there???

i bet jj is most likely to cut him to try to make a statement more than anyone else

Bueler was great last season at Kickoffs because what needs to happen is he goes back to Kickoffs and drill them in the back of the endzone and sign a Kicker for FG's. They've got him directional Kicking too much and it's hurting our Special Teams. I would put him back in what he does best and sign Matt Stovar. I don't mind carry two Kickers when the KO specialist is making Teams start from their 20 yard line 85% of the time. It's a mistake they made moving Bueler....well FIX the mistake and watch the improvement in two categories....return game and FG's made.

The "GM" is still being developed after 16 years. He's lost more games for us than all our kickers in the history of the Dallas Cowboys. You seriously think kicker is our worry? Pfffft..........

I agree. This directional kicking crap is killing us. Why in the world would you not kick it as deep as possible? Wouldn't surprise me if the coaches were making him directional kick it in order to improve his accuracy to help with field goals. If so, its the dumbest thing i have ever heard.

We need to bring in another kicker and let buehler just kick off. It's not like that roster spot would be a big loss anyway. Wade doesn't know how to let young guys get in. Butler is being wasted and jason williams doesn't need to be playing at all.

I agree that he should not have started the season as our kicker, but at this point, it doesn't really matter. We should let him develop.

While we're at it, might as well develop Sean Lee and Sam Young as well.

He is a Kickoff Specialist that needs to be a KO Specialist. Matt Stovar inside 50 yards is pretty accurate. Also by letting Bueler stay out there and mis critical kicks, get blasted by everyong hurts his Confidence even more. Make the change !!!

Didn't you see him make the tackle when they had a long run back? He's no run for the sidelines run of the mill kicker. I am disappointed he's not getting touchbacks like last year, but he got two last night that I remember.
Did you see in a earlier game the kicker came out in a pair of gold house slipper looking shoes to kick a field goal? You think he would at least wear pink shoes like the other players.

It is, and I said this earlier this year after a miss, a kick in the gut momentum killer to battle all day, and have a kicker miss a FG.

It is what it is. They aren't going to get rid of him now. And with so many other issues now, I am sure Jerry isn't really giving it hard thought now.

Either way, I don't know if there is another team in the NFL where the players and coaches have less confidence in their kicker. The whole decision making process had several holes in it. It is the type of careless decision making that always seems to bite this team.

We're 1-3. There would be no point in getting rid of youth, because if we don't pick it up, this season is done anyways. Might just as well prepare for the future.

This is an issue (and it is an issue) which will plague some fans for awhile. Yesterday, I saw Buehler nail a 50+ yarder with plenty of leg to spare. He followed that with a shorter miss.

I think they are not going to pull the trigger on Buehler as long as there is the slightest chance that he can become more consistent between his short- and long-range kicks. Unless he either misses 3/3+ field goals in a game or misses two crucial kicks late in a game, I doubt that he will get jettisoned this year.
