Cutting a player out of a pic?

Ok I am new to photoshop and what is the best way to cut a player out of a picture?

Any help is apreciated.

It's kind of lame but it helped someone so here it goes.

the picture is pixelated and its creative but a way i learned on cropping what you want is with the polygonal lasso tool

zoom the picture to any amount you want and then with the lasso go around the object















dont know if it's the best way but it works for me and it's fast.

Hey thanks that works great. Once I've done this, is there a way to resize the player? I'm sure there is, but I'm probably oblivious.

click Image at the top and click on "Image Size" (Alt+Ctrl+I)
