Cutting Edge Stuff

Looks like the cool thing to do is to bash fellow fans who are legitimately worried about the depth of the OL. That's a lot easier than actually considering what could happen if we have another injury on the OL and lose Romo against the Skins because our OL depth is gone.
Just like what could happen if anybody in the NFL is injured. But since every other team has an endless supply of pro bowl players they don't have to worry about injuries.

We as fans are ok to be worried, but have no idea how things will turn out. Especially if somebody gets injured.

Have you considered the fact that YOUR worrying won't assist the team in any respect? I'm assuming that you are not Jerry Jones, or Stephen Jones, or any other member of the Cowboys organization. Can you explain how your worrying, or any fan's failure to play russian roulette because someone on the Cowboys line got injured will affect the team's success or failure this year?

I think I will go on record and say "That I refuse to take it one game at a time". I will look ahead to other games on the schedule. I know. I have tempted fate. The shame!

Dude, chill out.

You realize that nobody on this board has any control whatsoever about the outcome of the Skins game week 1. You are an observer and nothing more!!!!

Also, you do realize that this is just entertainment and really should not be anything you actually worry about. Trust me, I just lost a close friend last week and it really puts in perspective how trival football really is.

There are so many more things in life that you should actually worry about and none of them are offensive line depth of your favorite NFL team. Like I said, if you are actually worrying about any of this, you need to get a grip my friend.

Love that last bit! :lmao2:

Threads like this are just about as obnoxious as the ones with the outlandish claims about which you're being tongue-in-cheek. Besides, it's not like we can have actual football discussion on this board most days, because when DCFanatic posts videos to discuss breakdowns of plays everybody just replies to tell him how pointless it is to talk about one single play. :laugh2: The only thing left to do is come up with crazy Madden trades, worry about depth, or in your case, make bad jokes about the aforementioned threads.

I'd rather see the pessimism about our backup o-line that's here than the 'every guy on our roster is an all pro in hiding' attitude you get from boards like extremeskins.

As an avid reader of this message board, and occasional poster of this forum, I think it is time that I "gave something back" to this message board, for all of the enjoyment I receive reading it on a daily basis. As my GIFT to this board, I thought I should make an attempt to summarize all of the posts on this board, so that all of you do not have to make the effort to read all of the posts. This is my humble attempt. Here goes:

1. Roy Williams #11 is either the savior of this team (and everyone needs to lighten up on him), or possibly the anti-christ who carries a branding iron with 666 on it in his back pocket. Its a close call, but the exact answer remains unresolved.

2. Everything is Jerry Jones' fault. Don't you know that we should exhume the body of the Great Tom Landry and allow him to continue to coach from the grave to right Jerry Jones' first wrong. A coach as great as Landry should be allowed to coach until he is ready to quit, just like Joe Paterno, or JoPa as the posters who like to shorten names would lovingly refer to him.

3. Dexter Coakley is still worth a third round pick to us (even though he is no longer on our team) and should be traded for another teams franchise player, or even two franchise players on a good day.

4. Several of the male posters on here have "man crushes" on various players and could be coming out of the closet at any time. I'm not bashing anyone's sexual preference, just doing a humble job of summarizing posts.

5. A majority of the board would like to see Emmett Smith be allowed to return to broadcasting, which might assist in negating some of the Cowboy's Hall of Fame bias against our team. It might also assist in getting future hall of famers like Jason Whitten, Flozelle Adames, Dat Winn, Keith Brookings, Austin Miles, etc into that exclusive club.

6. The sky is falling.

7. Everyone can see that we would suffer injuries to the offensive line. I mean, seriously, I even asked my magic 8 ball and it said "All signs point to "yes". We should have drafted (insert name) or traded for Gaither. It is irrelevant that he is injured now. He wouldn't have been if we had traded for him.

8. Other teams backups are studs. They have no dropoff in play when the players ahead of them get hurt.

9. All of our backups suck.

10. The sky is still falling.

11. We should have signed T.O. to play on the offensive line. He has lost a step, but its not as important if you put him on the offensive line.

12. The Beauler won't hit a field goal all year. Woe is me.

13. Dez Bryant should hire a midget to carry his team members shoulder pads. It is too important not to comply with tradition, and seriously, he is too important to carry them himself.

14. Wade is too soft. He should hire Ray Lewis to come in and actually gun down a few players to show everyone he means business.

15. Doesn't wade know that having practice causes injuries? We should tell the guys to go make it rain and come back the morning of the Washington game.

all of the above. :)

I'm all for discussing anything and everything. Seriously. My post above was intended to have a little bit of fun by poking fun at subjects that have been repeatedly been beaten like a dead horse. You know ...:horse:

Seriously, you didn't at least smile when you read the one about Ray Lewis gunning players down so Wade could let them know he meant business? :)

I will defend your right to start ten new threads on our offensive line depth and injury woes, but I don't think the mods would appreciate it that much. :laugh2: :pc:

wow Ive read thousands of posts and never seen anyone who thinks Williams can even be a key piece of this offense much less a savior

I rarely create new threads. Only when I really feel like discussing something, so no worries there. =P And most of your list was eye roll inducingly silly, like the Coakley for a 3rd thing since it's so old most of the crazy people around here these days probably weren't even around for those threads.

The Ray Lewis thing I did laugh at, mostly because me and my friends always make jokes about him murdering people any time we see him on a highlight or in a game. :laugh2:

You are right, it is old, but the fact that people remember it after all this time, gives one quite a bit of clarity about just how bad that dead horse was beaten.

I took the liberty of adding some color commentary to your post.

Excellent post! I'll just make one addition. The Good Lord tells us to not worry about anything in this life much less the trivialities of a football game. I just watch the games and enjoy them, no matter if the original planned starters are out there or not. Just be optimistic in life, change the things that you can change, and don't worry about things you have absolutely no ability to change. You'll have a much more enjoyable life if you do............
