There are you tubers out there that put in a lot of work researching teams, rosters, and anything to do with every player each team has. I have a higher opinion of them than I do those on NFL network making predictions. Those people sound more like an opinion from a casual observer. Like opinions of other teams I would have based solely on past record and watching some football all year.

Picking the records of 32 teams before they've played each other at all is Nostradamus type work. It's like the first ranking of the NCAAF season. Interesting that she's underestimated the team lately, I wonder what she's plugging into that computer model that's bringing the Cowboys down. Zero depth in the OL? That hurt the team last year and nothing has improved in that respect.

It's impossible to know the level of editing by network producers of the pundit's analysis to gin up reaction. I do know Cynthia Frelund has an impressive background in analytics.

Dallas was 5th last year in point differential. That includes thinking the 20 point loss in the last week was real. The Giants were 16th.

I have absolutely no idea what happened this offseason that would make a computer think that gap had more than closed. Its almost like this is complete BS.

Even more interesting is her numbers before preseason kept Dallas at 3rd in the NFC and had NYG at third from last in the conference. They were substantially massaged to get this outcome based on preseason in which NYG played one series with their starting O. Their starting OL looked disastrous. The Dallas backup defense repeatedly made starting offenses look bad.
