The Patriots and Randy Moss really aren't close to a new contract, although the Pats believe Moss will give them the option to match whatever deal he does receive on the open market. That makes sense because the clubs pursuing Moss will be limited because he wants to play for a contender. The most interesting rumor is Moss joining the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys can pay up, and wouldn't T.O. and Moss be interesting to watch, not to mention impossible to defend?

I think the real 81 and the other 81 would not be a good fit together. What looks good on paper does not always translate to good on the field or the locker room.

I don't believe this only because I have read Moss hates the Cowboys and cannot forgive us for not drafting him.

That is why he always kicks our buttocks.

Ditto.

It's like when Dallas dream backfield of Dorsett & Walker was going to be unstoppable. In the end it was not 1+1=2, but more like 1+1=1.

Perhaps more manageable as WR's but I am still very wary of those "on paper" scenarios. They often don't translate.

U Gotta Believe that Mr. Jones is all over the Moss possibility. Receivers of his caliber do not hit the open market very often.

Now, would it work, that's a totally different question, but the possibility is sure intriguing.

Wouldn't be a bit surprised if it happened if he hits the open market. It would be very similar to Jerry shelling out the big bucks to bring in Deion in 1994 as the missing piece to a Superbowl winner.

EXACTLY!
But boy that sure would be fun to watch!
Romo would SHATTER all the records Brady just broke, that's for sure!
Aint' gonna happen though, Moss and Owens both have said they couldn't co-exist on the same team!
Give me ROY WILLIAMS, he's YONGER and would cost less!
We are gonna be a superbowl contender for the next 5-8 years, lets not BREAK THE BANK or do anything stupid (I.E. trade up for McFadden) just to make a ONE YEAR RUN at a superbowl, lets just get the bargains, like a Roy Williams or even a Javon Walker if he's cut and just draft very well to keep this thing going for a long long run of hopefully a few superbowls!

I think they could easily do it. It'd be like stealing candy for both of them.

They're both at that age now where they really have to start seeing if they can get that championship. I'm sure Moss was devastated about the loss more so than a guy like Brady, who already has rings and the undying adoration of the front-running fans in the New England area.

Can you source this? I have not read or heard anything to support this claim.

Absolutely agree! I can't understand why some people think this is so far fetched. Jerry has got a great reputation as an owner who loves his star players, treats them great and pays them top $$. Add to that, Jerry has been talking for months about adding a WOW factor to the offense and Randy Moss, (coming off what is arguably the most dominant year ever for a WR), is on the open market.

I've said since last year that T.O. running the crossing routes and Moss stretching the field are perfect compliments for each other.
