He is a RFA, read an article on NFL.com saying he could be had for a 3rd rounder. He is 24 with 3 years of experience. He was the Nickel back last year behind Dre Bly and Champ Bailey. Finished with 70 tackles and 2 picks the year he started 7 games, and last year started 6 and finished with 42 tackles. Not bad at all for a Nickel guy. Any interest? Say we dont have a corner worth taking with our first two picks( Talib, Cason and McKlevin are gone) and round two we have to settle with whats left. If it played out like that and we went WR,RB, CB. I wouldnt mind offering Denver a 4th or 5th and seeing if they are interested.

Thoughts?

I don't know about a third, but not a bad idea in general, but only if he is viewed as an upgrade from Reeves.

foxworth would make a formidable #2 and potential #1 corner...i would be willing to give up even a 3rd for him...

Reeves was Horrible man, i would take Fox over Reeves anyday!

I wouldn't say he was horrible at all. He wasn't great by any means but he did do an ok job IMO.

#1 CB over Newman? no way. the guy is not that good, but hes better then Reeves!

BTW i still rather have Pacman over him.

Well he had his games, but he had more bad, poor games then good.

i didn't say a #1 over newman, i meant a potential #1 in general - he could be the #1 on probably 10-11 teams...he could develop into a #1 here in 2-3 years when when newman hits 32-33...

Oh ok i was gonna say, My badd. Either way don't think we would get the guy anyways.

So far seems like everyone is interested. Guess we'll wait and see how the draft unfolds and then decide whether we should make a move

I would do it, makes more sense than giving up a 1st for DeAngelo Hall, not to mention the huge contract

I guess Denver didn't agree, considering they signed the old and disappointing Dre Bly to replace him.

I do think Foxworth is pretty talented, but he's not that good.

Well, I think it's a combination of things. Darrent Williams and Foxworth were considered the future. Champ Bailey was brought in and he and Williams were the starters. Bly replaced Williams moreso than Foxworth. I think Bly is ok, BTW. Not great, but a solid starter.

I think Foxworth is considered a better nickel and starter prospect than Reeves. So, I don't think it would hurt to see what kind of contract he would want.

Why are they letting him go for a 3rd round pick? Do they have someone else in the wings that they like better?

This is the most telling thing to me. I do remember watching Foxworth a couple of years ago and being impressed with him. He would definitely be an upgrade over Reeves.

Yeah but would you take Fox over a third round draft pick?

I would take Fox for a 3rd. Think about it, what corners are gonna be around in the 3rd? Now you have a young corner with a lot of potential, who has starting experience already and learned from one of the best CB's in the game the past few years. No college guy we get in the 3rd will be game ready like Foxworth would.

Thats a huge upside to Fox over a 3rd or 4th rounder imo.

Just read that Reeves was in the top 8 in the league for "most completed passes against." Granted, teams always throw to the weak side, but c'mon. Foxworth would be a big upgrade over Reeves.

Whats up with Lance Frazier or Bruce Thorton?

we should give these 2 a call
