D gameplan?

Starting thinking after posting in another thread about how are we going to play our corners in this game? I say this because Bulger is a solid QB with some very good WR's (Holt is a STUD). With a banged up O-Line , no Stephen Jackson, Bulger with 2 broken ribs I think they are going to attack us almost like a west coast offense. I'm guessing short passes will work like runs for them this week and we know how Reeves gives such a big cushion.

What do we do this week with him? Are we going to play it the same way and let them go short. Reeves has been playing better and is making better breaks on balls, but Bruce and Holt are big time receivers. Bruce is old now, but he still gets it done. Do we play Reeves up or just hope the game is slowing down for him and he makes his reads faster and plays good technique?

Probably bend but don't break defense. Thats if our offense is performing like it has been.

I don't know how many times we have to say this, but Reeves does'nt play back on purpose. It's the play that calls for him to play back. I went back and watched all defensive plays and how many times they played press coverage, and Reeves was involved in 3 or 4 press coverages the entire game but for the most part, the Cowboys played with a pretty decent cushion.

Newman was the only CB that played mostly press coverage, and the 2 INTs Henry got, he was playing press coverage.

We do exactly what we did in the last game IMO, and rely on our front 7 to disrupt any attempt to go deep against us by getting to the QB or making him feel very uncomfortable.

They played Carolina in the first game, and never threw it downfield. They seem to run underneath crossing in front of the safeties, or at least that is what I see. I say press and make Bulger try to throw it downfield with broken ribs and D Ware and Spencer hanging on him. We have to play press or he will go with 3-5 step drops and kill us underneath.

I would double Holt for sure.

I thought Bruce was a bit banged up as well?

I think if we can grind it out on offense and jump to an early lead, we can control the tempo of this game.

If Bulger is forced to go one dimensional and throw, I'd like to think we can force some turnovers (with Bulger being banged up along with the OL).
