D.J. Swearinger (6-0, 201, #36, Senior) is a safety for South Carolina.
He looks like a good player to me; however, he is rated as the 12th best Safety by ESPN and the 10th best by CBS.
What I saw:
Often lines up in 1-on-1 coverage against WRs.
Fluid.
Solid, muscular build.
Hard hitter.
Appeared to have good assignment discipline.
In the game against Arkansas, he made a nice interception and returned it for a touchdown.
His teammate, Devonte Holloman is also an interesting player. He has played both Safety and LB. ESPN has him rated as the 7th best Safety. He is listed as a LB on the South Carolina roster.
The SC roster lists Holloman at 6-2, 235 while nfldraftscout lists him at 6-2, 241 which is really big for a Safety. Sean Lee was only 6-2, 236 in pre-draft measurements.
