When he went up against Ty, he was stoned, per earlier tweet. Couldn't get off the line against him, but we are talking about an elite LT vs rook here.

And if he was beating Smith, that would not be great news either.

All in all, if he is beating the average players he should like Weems and Parnell, who cares if our stud LT stones him?

He is not going to play that level of offensive tackle week in and week out. And if he partners with Smith for pointers about what he wanted to do to stop him and how he did it, he will only get better as a result.

Rushing the passer is about matchups. If he can win most against the average OT he faces in his rookie year, he will be fine.

For those that did not see it earlier, in this thread or the other, he already went against T. Smith and got flat stonewalled.

Also from other reports (broaddus) Weems has not looked good.

Hence the reason the person made the original tweet which basically said he looked good against Weems but how will he do against a good LT and we found out the answer to that...he got stonewalled.

He is a young rookie. It is going to happen.

However one must also recall the number of times we heard that T.Smith was getting beat by D.Ware and he later became better.

Yes, I fully expect Smith to school the rookie. If he wasn't doing that when he faced Lawrence, I might have some concerns about Smith.

I also fully expect Lawrence to look good against Weems. If he didn't, I would have some concerns about Lawrence. OK, I already do ... but I hope he alleviates them.

I am not saying he shouldn't go against Smith but the mediot was giving a back handed compliment which is a cowardly way to offer insult.

No matter what the mediots say, D-Law is going to be a player, playa.

Well, it is a caveat. Lawrence beats Smith, he should be praised. Lawrence beats Weems, it should be pointed out that it was just Weems.

From what you are able to see on the NFL Network ....Lawrence looks to be in better shape than Mincy. I thought Mincy was gonna be a decent pick up....but after watching that practice...I won't be shocked to see Mincy get cut and Lawerence starting @ some point. Pretty disappointing in Mincy:(

Mincey had some good reps against Tyron Smith in the OL-DL drills. He's the only DL that I saw have any success on TS.

He will get plenty of reps against Smith. I don't know why anyone would worry about rather it happens or not. They'll go head to head plenty in camp.

Yes, it was good to hear that after Smith whipped him thoroughly Mincey came back with a couple of good reps against him. Our offensive line is supposed to be superior, so any success the D-line has against the starters I take as good news.

Meanwhile Demarcus Ware sitting out at Broncos practice. Jerry made the correct choice here, Ware just hasn't been the same the last 3 seasons, glad we got a younger, hungrier D-Line playing for Rod.

There were a number of good reasons why Dallas had to cut ties with him. As far as the Broncos are concerned, Denver can afford to sit DeMarcus Ware for as long as necessary during the preseason. They can sit him all preseason, in fact. The real question is how durable will Ware be during the games that count?

Waves of D-lineman. I don't think you end up cutting Mincy, good depth.

Nice...pressure all the time. Attack that ***!

The Cowboys defense has to practice against one of the better offenses in the NFL. That is why I liked that irrelevant CB talking **** to Williams. Respect is what this defense wants, hopefully.

Iron sharpens iron... Let him work against Smith as much as possible. Even AFTER practice is over.
