D Law will not be the same without Irving

I hope our FO knows that losing Irving to Indy (or another team) has ripple effects for the whole pass rush. Specifically, D Law will face double teams and a blocking scheme shifted to his side without the threat of Irving. Plus, the E-T stunt that the two of them worked to perfection will not be the same with Maliek Collins at 3T; he is not the pass rush threat that Irving is. I think this FO will rue the day if they do not match whatever offer he gets.

guys, the team doesnt care, we have 2 seasons even before we re relevant again. right now, just pity for D Law, all his work will be for naught.

who knows, i might be wrong, but right now, the team is not interested in building a comepetitive line.

He did ok when Irving was not in the line-up.
DLaw will do just fine.

Taco, Taco will make an impact in his 2nd season. Well, let us hope he does. As no one can sa that for sure. But he was starting to. A,e plays last last season. So if he does continue to improve, and DLaw does get those double teams, then that can free up Taco.

In theory this post makes sense, but Lawrence actually had more sacks in the 8 games Irving didn't play in than the 8 he did.

I'll give you that he was on a tear the first four games without D Law. Somewhat because we played the NYG (worst line in league), DEN (poor OL), and AZ (statue at QB and poor OL). But last four without Irving, he had only 1 sack.

Seriously? This is like the third thread I've seen today saying Indy is going to take irving away, all because of that trade. Why do you guys keep assuming they want him? Can you at least wait for it to happen before getting upset

For the record, I don’t want to see Irving go anywhere. Even if that means he has a terrific season and we can’t afford his contract demands next season. Atleast we’d have the possibility of a DL other teams would have to respect and/or even fear. The only reason to let him go is to flip the second round pick into a cheaper option for the next four years, which by merit, isn’t a terrible idea either. Especially if Irving continues his ratio of sacks per game, I just can’t see how Dallas would be able to resign him. There will most certainly be another team with like $100mil in cap space that will lure him away. That said, I’d rather ride this out and enjoy watching Lawrence, Irving, and the crew create havoc and opportunities for our young secondary this year. Hopefully, by the end of next season.. Taco or Tapper (dare I say Gregory)will prove the decision to let Irving go easier. Let’s add a FS and some LBers in the draft and enjoy watching this Defense

Not just assuming, I respect this guy's opinion. And the fact that Indy has 3 2nd round picks and $72 million in cap space.

Yes, and remember if he plays lights out for us and signs a big free agent contract in 2019, we can expect a high comp pick (3rd?). But my fear is a team with alot of cap room this year (Indy) signs him to a front-loaded contract that we cannot match. Yes, a high 2nd rounder sounds nice in principle. But we have not drafted well in that round. And no rookie is going to make up for Irving's production and effect on the pass rush. IMO it was a mistake not to tag him with a 1st round tender.
