Maybe Romo struggling is a blessing in disguise as it is forcing Linehan to lean on the run, although on second thought, we probably won't do much of Romo keeps playing like this. Even with a great run game, to win in today's league to still need to be able to pass the ball very well. Hopefully we can continue leaning in the run AND Romo can get back some accuracy on his throws

I think the fact that Tenn never stopped coming with a pass rush as Dallas gouged them with the run played a big role. Normally when you run as Dallas did the opposing teams pass rush will slow down as they are looking at stopping the run. Tenn picked their poison and lost. I think as Long as Dallas can stay balanced on offense they give themselves a chance

worked out pretty good yesterday with the 1 on 1 match up with Dez down by the goal line. Nothing cute about it just well executed easy TD. We ran one in as well and in my opinion by being able to do both it puts defense in a bad position.

Hey, as long as it works then it is great, but I like the run call better there.

I like to run as well I also like to be able to use all weapons we have to score points. Throwing down there is not bad and every team will throw down there as well. Only issue is Romo has to be smart enough to throw it away when it is not there and come back on the next play. Limiting yourself is never a good thing

I see Dallas 4th in rushing attempts with 66, our 5.3 avg per game ranks 4th and 173 yards per game as 2nd. Balance wise Dallas has ran 66 time and passed 66 times.

Never mind...I was on the individual rushing stats and decided to hit the Team listing instead of individual and instead of it sticking to Rushing it went to passing...that was weird.

So you are right. Good Catch!

Agreed. I don't mind an attempt of a back shoulder to Dez thrown in there once in a while but by and large when they're first and goal inside the 5 I want to see a steady diet of Murray.

2,105 Eric Dickerson with the 1984 Rams.
Murray is on pace for almost 2300 yards.

I don't think the pace is sustainable of course, but, if I'm being honest, if he stays healthy, I don't think 2000 is unrealistic if we have the same approach game in and game out. Other than the Seahawks, Texans, and maybe the Cardinals, we don't play against a good front 7 the rest of the year. He is going to have plenty of opportunities for big games.

I'm not worried about the commitment of the run game.

If I had a complaint about Linehans playcalling so far though it's that we try to get cute around the goal line and throw it instead of punching it in.

That may be on Romo though.

On one TD they did let Demarco get all the work and he scored. On the other they had Dez 1-1 for a relatively easy TD pass and catch.

Results were good.

I am not even thinking about 2k for Murray for a couple of reasons.

1. I don't think he has stayed healthy a whole season going back to his days at OU.

2. Even if he does stay healthy I don't know if the cowboys will stay committed to the run for the long haul. Would not be shocked if they are doing it right now because they know Romo is not 100%.

If Murray is healthy and Tony gets healthy and they don't stay committed to the run, Garrett and the entire staff should be fired the day after the season, period.

Would love to see what he can put up in a full healthy season (assuming we continue to run the ball). Could be interesting. I think they will have to rely on him more than ever now with how Romo has been looking so far.

+1.
And while it's early, if we can get the offensive line to block like this every game, then I think Murray and Co. will get around 30-35 handoffs a game.

If Murray had that break away speed he would have an additional 100 yards added to that total. Murray should beast this year I wonder if he could break 2,000 if we continue with the run game. Do anyone know the exact number for the single season rushing record ?

Wow...just wow.

This was the Titans. Remember the Titans? (I have been waiting for years to use that on this board)

They aren't a very good team.

Yesterday after the game I was honking too myself he should be the league leader cause I don't rembwr anybody going off week 1, and nobody went off yesterday, don't think anybody is playing as good as he was, maybe Ingram but he got hurt.

Murray should have 1,300 yards, and the rest should have 500. It's the only way Murray has a chance at staying healthy.
