For all yall football fans that think the refs are letting roy williams and other football players get away with the horse-collar tackle, than your wrong. for starters when roy tackles somebody, he grabs the collar of the jersey and lets his body weight pull the ball carrier down. It's only a penalty if you grab the collar of the shoulder pads and pull the ball carrier towards to bting him down, and the ball carrier got fall because if he breaks it then its not a penaly.

English is good. And yes, as Cowboy's fans we all already know this (or should know it by now).

Say what? You lost me there. Are you trying to say its only a penalty if you yank the ball carrier backwards when tackling him?

Right. It's okay if you're just trying to hug the guy.

You have to pull the ball-carrier towards yourself for it be considered a horse collar tackle. You can pull him down, if you don't pull him in towards you which is the motion that produces the akward bending that injures players.

I don't understand much of what he wrote either, but I do know that it's only a penalty if you grab the back of the shoulder pads. You can grab the back of the jersey and yank him down any way you want. The only time it's a penalty is if the player grabbed the back of the shoulder pads.

Phil Simms' explanation was only half right. He left out the part about the shoulder pads/jersey.
