So it’s now known that it was the amount of years that kept the deal from getting done this year, Dak wanted 4 and Cowboys wanted 5. So next year, does Dak want 3 and Cowboys want 4 or will it still be Dak wants 4? Because if the Cowboys give in and give him a 4 year deal, didn’t they really sign him for the 5 years they wanted, a franchise tag this year followed by a 4 year contract?

Actually we knew all along it was the years issue that was keeping Dak's deal from getting done.

Dak is still wanting to get that 3rd big dollar deal. Therefore he will be asking for a 3 year deal. Hopefully the Cowboys will offer a 5 or 6 year deal to spread out his money and make it a shorter deal so it's easier to cut him if he tanks. The Cowboys seem to be doing that a lot recently.

Barring significant injuries— Dak is in line to have a monster year.

2. Solid OL? Check
3. Explosive talent at skill positions? Check
4. Contract year? Check
5. Improved D and STs? Check

The guy had some down games last year and STILL almost broke the franchise record for yards (all while his WRs led the league in drops lol). He is focused, hungry, and being developed by one of the best QB gurus in the game.

After watching what Mahommes just got paid— if Dak lights it up it is going to be crazy money. Some fans on this site will be on suicide watch
