Dak’s Next Contract

wrong what he deserves will be hw productive he becomes over the next 12-24 months..it would be the dumbest thing they did to up him early just for the sake of hes a qb and he should get paid..no id say right now he deserves 20 per season...time will tell if he deserves a MRyan type deal..Ryan won an MVP and has been to the SB...

Dak's next contract:huh:
If he stinks it up that next contract might not even be in Dallas:muttley:

This crap the NFL does where they make their QB the richest guy in the league has got to stop.

Dak may be a good player but making him the richest player in football will crush our chances of having a Superbowl team.

We can't get Stephen Jones to sign a quality free agent as it is.

Until the FO actually announces they’re re-signing him and the contract details have been released, any speculation on Dak’s next deal will remain fluid, number$-wise.

But however it all plays out, my hunch is that Dak Prescott is still gonna be the long-range plan at starting QB.

Cowboys are prepared to pay Dak Prescott what “he deserves”

The Cowboys have the best bargain in football this season, paying Dak Prescott only a $630,000 base salary. Prescott’s per year average of $680,000 ranks only 74th among NFL quarterbacks. Seventy-fourth?!

Prescott surely makes more in his off-the-field deals.

The Cowboys, though, know what is coming. As a fourth-round pick in 2016, Prescott is eligible for new deal after this season.

And he will get one.

Jerry Jones already promised an “extraordinary contract” for Prescott, and the record five-year, $150 million deal Matt Ryan signed last week only ups the ante.

One of the disadvantages of finding a gem in the fourth round: You have to pay him a year earlier than Goff or Wentz. It's a significant window if the cap is close and you have the team to win now.

Dak would have to really mess up this year to not get paid. I can see getting something close to what Matt Ryan got.

Basically he'll get paid according to how he plays this season. Nothing new

No, unlike what fans think, all teams consider all the years when evaluating for new contracts. His rookie year as NFL offensive rookie of the year will get some considerations on the new contract offer too. It won't be based solely on the 2018 season.
.

LOL ...talk about overreaction. They said he'll get what he deserves. Nowhere did they say he will get Ryan of Roger money w/o being MVP. Hell if he's league MVP that likely means deep playoff appearances and/or possible Super Bowl. If that's the case, then yea, you're talking Ryan money. Otherwise, I'm guessing his contract would likely be near cap figure for QBs.

This the second time Stephen has talked about Dak contract and now Jerry. Know many posters don't wanna hear this but sounds they are 150% in with Dak.......period. They are speaking a franchise QB tone.......

I don't know what hw productive means but nobody said anything about giving Prescott a Ryan type deal. All Stephen said is because of Ryan's deal it will have an impact on all QB contracts meaning that Ryan's contract just raised the average amount for a QB contract.

Depends on what the word close......I'm thinking it would take couple deep playoff wins at min to get Ryan money.
