Dak’s performance eerily reminding of Tony Romo

I know, I know Romo is ten times the passer Dak is and he’s now retired and should be left out of things. But, Tony had plenty of games in the regular season where he played reckless football all game and then made something happen for us to pull it out. From the stat line to the turnovers, this could’ve been a classic Romo/Dez Romo/T.O. game.

Also, I have a theory as to why Dak gets so little respect even when he plays well.

-His lows are low, as in they look really bad and make it seem as if Prescott is just flat out bad.

-His highs aren’t usually statistically mind-blowing.

-Most of his positive effects come from leadership, toughness, and raising his game late. Most of which aren’t sexy like arm strength and pinpoint accuracy. Or elite speed and athleticism.

-Ever since he’s been drafted, his success had been directly linked to other parts of the team (O-line, Zeke, defense). So anything he does in the fans minds is tied to other parts of the team.

I think with coaching that’s a bit more innovative and less predictable, while using modern concepts (motions and picks). You can hide enough of his weaknesses to have an efficient pass offense with a dominant run game and D. As you see with the Bears game, defense still matters in December/January.

Nobody questions Dak's leadership or moxie. Its his arm talent that gets questioned. Romo never got his just due in spite of being the franchises all-time passing leader and 4th highest QBR in NFL history. Why? Because he never had a good game in January or won anything. Thats the bar in Dallas. You don't like it? Become a Browns fan.

Well there one thing I do know. The guys has an arm. Overthrowing Gallop is not an easy task. The guy can fly....His accuracy is what hurts him.

Gallup is a rook that is still a touch inconsistent. We now know what Dak can do when he same pages with a consistent WR. Once Gallup gains that consistency, those link ups will happen. I'm not saying it's all Gallup. I'm saying it's Gallup and Dak.

In his rookie year, I was 100% on board. I jumped ship this year. I am not back on board 100% yet, but I do believe your final point is incredibly valid. It may be something as "simple" as coaching and scheme. Now, if only our front office would realize that we don't have good coaching. And please, can we get a real QB coach and OC at the very least? Maybe Jones would consider firing Garrett knowing McCarthy is available.

No Dak and Romo are totally different thank goodness . Dak threw his Ints early when they could be overcome Romo would have thrown it on that last play where Dak scored to Amari . They would have run it back kicked the FG and beat us .

Dak it patient follows the game plan dosent try to get it all back at once . Romo just wanted to pass the ball at all cost and many times it cost us big . Dak wants to win at all costs that's why we are winning big . Romo did what he liked to do PASS Dak dose what ever is necessary to win .

If Romo had no pocket presence, the touch of a sledgehammer and was told by the coach to try to use up 3 downs before every first down, you’d have Dak. Even Romo’s worst season easily beats what Dak is churning out this year.

I can live with that Romo was my favorite Cowboy and this game does remind you of those Romo games where you had those WTH moments turn into joy, he was easily forgiven..Amari reminds me of TO as well TO-ROMO were a great combo for those huge plays..

He would be considerably worse. Only Dak slobberers think that sitting on the bench doing nothing makes you better.

Dak has to learn to settle down. He over throws wide open receivers to much. But deep passes that are contested he will drop it right in.

Romo had to win shootouts against good teams and most of the time didn’t have an all pro RB or top 3 D to lean on. Dak doesn’t have to do that. People make fun of Dak for being a bus driver but in all honesty that’s what he should be. He needs to get better pocket presence and take care of the ball better, but if he can improve in those areas he can grind out comfortable wins for us. If he doesn’t he’s going to play us into nail biters most of the time and that will catch up to you, I promise.

Romo / Dak is a tough comparison because they were / are in totally different situations.

This accuracy thing is so over blown it is ridiculous.

The guy completed 77% of 54 passes last night.

He is over 68% on the year...top 10 in the league and that is coming from toward the bottom just 6 or so weeks ago.
