Twitter: Dak against playoff teams

the problem then is organizational. If one side does their job and the other side doesn't... you can point to one unit. But if both sides do poorly against great teams, it's the organization at fault.
And don’t forget special teams. Outside Aubrey and Anger special teams was riding the short bus last year.

Nothing specific to this thread at all, but many on here don't read thread titles/ or have an understanding of what/who they are responding to....only a specific few suffer this ailment we call......

You're not thinking it through and seeing the big picture. You're fixated on the average of 31 pts/gm given up by the defense in the losses but ignoring that in 2 of the last three the defense allowed far less than that and the offense blew two very winnable games.

It also doesn't account for that yes; the defense screwed the pooch in three of those five losses but that doesn't give a free pass to absolve any responsibility for the offense for the long stretches of futility in each of those three losses.

Note; This is not blaming the offense for those losses. It is acknowledging that they did not play a complete game in any of them and do have some responsibility in them.

Actually it doesn't. It's PECULIAR to Dak. He CHOKES when there is pressure and then when the game is out of hand and almost unwinnable...he starts to "fight back".
It's amazing we still have to keep beating this drum. We are on the 10th movie remake with the same plot. LOL!

Offense did their job against Rodgers. 31 points. Stretches of nothingness is something that every Quarterback does.

Against the Rams, the offense started slow but did do well enough towards the end but the defense gave up 170 yards of rushing at halftime. Even Rams fans at the game (who I spoke to) said the Cowboys defense were nothing special, not like the media said they were. Regular season rankings are irrelevant if the defense allows 150 more yards and 15 more points than their average. Against the Packers, offense started slow but Mahomes starts just as slow much of the times. Most notably the most recent Super Bowl against the Niners.... did the Chiefs get beaten at halftime?

The two Niners games were a different story, tho.

Maybe just maybe the Rams wouldn't have had all those rushing yards in the first half had the offense not gone three and out on most every drive and maybe even scored a few points?

Same for the Packers, both times.

I don't know. Just spitballing here.

Acknowledging reality and the fact that multiple things can be true doesn't seem unreasonable.

Agreed. I won’t knock the defense for the 9ers game but for the most part when they lose it’s a collective stinker and when they win they all seem to gel and have a good game.

I mean you don’t have to you choose to. Difference. No one is changing their opinion or cares.
LOL! I changed my opinion on Dak. I gave him 6 seasons. It was the 2023 49ers playoff game that ultimately did it for me. I probably gave him too many chances.

People change their minds all the time when they finally accept reality of a situation. I understand some will never turn on Dak, simply because he wears "The Star". People did the same thing for Quincy Carter and many other players in the past.

Yeah but you changed your opinion based on what you saw. Nobody had to convince you or remind you of his flaws. We all come to our opinions eventually on our own. Well I assume we do but you can never assume.

It’s not about “turning” on him. He’s a Cowboy so I will always hope a Cowboy does well because it does nothing but benefit the Cowboys.

I get we don’t like certain players for whatever reasons we have. Actively rooting against a guy or posting all day about how someone sucks now that I won’t understand.

Well I do like to form my own opinions after analysis. I also like to talk about what I've seen and discuss with people who don't agree OR agree. That's why this is called discussion forum, not an "echo chamber"....I am also open to changing my mind on a lot of things by the analysis of "other people" including folks here on this forum.

Dak vs GB in 2023 was absolutely HORRID... defense aside (and they were also terrible), the QB had two first-half picks - one a MISERABLE throw for a pick-six... QB4 was NOT any reasonable semblance of a playoff QB in that game. His best playoff game was easily the one where he showed Tom Brady the transition door from player to broadcaster. If only ALL his performances were similar.

I'm not writing off Prescott going forward - he HAS the experience, he HAS the talent, he HAS the physical and mental grasp of the game - but he IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME to put it all together and make his mark.

I gave up on him after 2022 SF playoff game also. No excuses with that one. He was red hot after dismantling the Eagles and Bucs and this was the moment that should've been on his shoulders. And the media was singing his praises ready for him to deliver his magical moment. And the defense gave him multiple chances to shift the game in our favor and he failed each time.

Everyone expected more from him that game. Jerry, myself, even most of the Dak guys.

But 2023 brought me back. He was nearly MVP, and the GB playoff game was more the defense than him.

And 2025 he would've been in contention if his team was good enough.

Both offense and defense have had the struggles in the 5 playoff losses.

2 were on the defense / 2 were on the offense / both get blamed for the last packers game a bit more so towards the defense.

You had me up until there. LOL

There's no going back once you formulate a correct diagnosis based on facts. It's like trying to make oil and vinegar mix. I think most of us who are on board with moving on from Dak gave him proper chances. (with a couple exceptions on this forum)

The fact is, no matter the situation. In BIG GAMES when the lights are bright. You DO NOT trust Dakota Prescott. You just don't. Anyone that does is just glutton for punishment.

What did Dak do in the GB game to absolve him? He just threw gasoline on the fire at every chance ..

I'm more interested in assessing his actual performances in the playoffs, rather than his rating in regular season games against teams that eventually made the playoffs.

Exactly. That's exactly my thoughts. Most of the Dak haters never mention the defense gave up 5 straight TDs to Jordan Love. But they gave up 5 straight TDs to Jordan Love. That actually happened.
