Dak can be cut in 2024 - Time to find his replacement

Looking at overthecap, it looks like if we cut him after June 1st 2024, he will eat up 18m of dead money, but we free up 34 million. Seems like a no brainer to start looking for other options.

I guarantee you Jerry and Stephen will already start to have those conversations about Dak's future...even though they love Dak and it hurts them. If they were able to finally close the book on Garrett, they can do the same with Dak. Interestingly enough, Garrett had 9 years and Dak will also have 9 years.

It will be over, I'm looking forward to those happy days just like when we all knew Garrett was done.

It'll be interesting to see how different a view Jerry has from the fanbase this offseason.

We're debating how to move on from Dak. Wouldn't surprise me if HE restructures the deal, basically extending our relationship with the QB.

Why wait. All the Dak Davidians have been telling us all year that his contract really isn't a problem and that it isn't prohibiting us from signing other guys at needed positions etc.

if that's the case, cut him loose now and absorb the hit. Draft a decent rookie and pay him on his rookie deal (Purdy Esque) and build something for the future instead of "hoping" to get good Dak for 4 straight playoff games. Hope isn't a strategy. Or at least it shouldn't be.

Move on. Now. He is what he is, and I'm tired of his face and his platitudes after every debilitating and inexusable performance.

Dak needs to go. He is a disaster. This is why Cee Dee Lamb and Parsons will want to resign elsewhere. Cee Dee is full aware that Dak is inconsistent at best.

You do know he has a $49.1M cap hit next season, right? That means we are going eat it and stay pat, or restructure to free up some the cap hit. You will need Dak's approval and you're probably wiping out the 2024 out coz an extension.
