    I definitely think about this.

It still leaves us time to find a new QB as the window closes on this current squad.

I don't want to listen to the vid because that stuff doesn't interest me in the slightest. None of it.
I know I'm in the posting minority here in that I don't listen to sports radio, or watch any sports opinion shows at all, but I will comment on the topic in that title.

Sure. Give the guy a 3 year deal. It's going to have to be 100% guaranteed, but whatever. It would need to be like being tagged 3 times without that monster 3rd tag inflation though.
And that is where the negotiations would surely snag.

    Yes.

For a prolatariat you think well.

I would offer him either a 3 or 4 year deal.

We will know after 2 years if we still want him. After that he will probably hold out anyway wanting an extension.

To me, these contract years are sort of irrelevant.

If a player wants out..he can force a trade anyway.

The teams have lost alot of control lately and it's affected league balance.

Your auto-correct didn't help you with proletariat, or a lot, but that's neither here, nor there.

For the team: the years are about shifting money if they have to.
For Dak it's about maximizing his total career earnings.

    Less years? Less money shifting.
More years: more money, but more shifting.

Dak and his agent have there eyes on Patty Mahomes like a hawk and they know Trevor Lawrence is on the horizon...
Now that I'm thinking about it, 4 years puts his next negotiating period right at where Trevor Lawrence would be at Year 3 in his contract, yes?

    Huh...

I tried spelling that word 4 times with spell check.

    Obviously not a French dictionary.

    But yes on Lawrence.

But man..how would we get a top 3 pick to go shop for him?

Oh yeah. We would have to lose and go 2-15 to do that.

    Next way?

Cowherd licks Carson Wentz's shoes on a daily basis, so I'm not really interested on his take on Dak.

what anyone thinks anymore, because at least there is a reason now to say,, what is my choice?
Fans have limited choices outside of loyalty.
Dak is vested, but its pending,
Still some patience before everyone starts rioting and breaking out windows and such.

    Sorry brother.

I think their topic was the years.

I am all in on anything that keeps our options with Dak.

    He wants options.

    Me,too..

3 years $99M fully guaranteed sounds really bad for some reason, but wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if Dak goes for it. We would still have the franchise tag option to keep him for 4/5 years if all is still going well.

Hop on the Red Ball Express,, just saying, best seats in front so all board early.
Rock and a hard place, never a best bet, but you invest in opportunity in this league and Dak at least presents that.
As a fan I could care less how you build a team, how you coordinate the cap to coordinate with the drafting process and every single other important intangible.
Its just about improving, and advancing, and instilling some faith in a new born fan base.
    All Aboard.....

The 2nd or 3rd year with the new regime is when i think this team can contend. so id be ok with it but id rather do 4 just in case.

The tag is important because the Cowboys can bench Dak and let him go if he proves that he's not the guy without being burdened with his salary for more years.
    Which likely will happen.
Dak doesn't deserve a multi year deal for big money yet.

5 years is best for cowboys. You have to spread out that guaranteed money. Tough negotiations remain.

The Red Ball Express alias for me is not so much about Garrett.

He was referred to as Redball when he was our QB behind Aikman. My grandfather was a colonel in the Army during WWII. He was a Quartermaster in the Army.

The Quartermaster Corp handled moving supplies, setting up canteen areas in the back lines to feed rotating troops from the front line fighting.

When the Germans came thru the Ardienne Forest to attack the Allies in 1944..he was there. When Gen. Patton counter attack..he was moving so fast the supply lines could not keep him supplied.

The movement to supply Patton with gas, etc became known as the Redball Express. My grandfather drove trucks night and day.

My grandfather won medals for stopping a German tank group trying to cut the supply line. Apparently it was very rough.

His nickname was from that time on Colonel Redball. I never knew the whole story until years later. So when I was thinking of an alias for here..

the Redball thing popped up in my head.

So it's not that I like Garrett..just a word association that goes back to my youth.
