The game last year where he took so many sacks has permanently changed him

He now checks down and is running and not throwing anything downfield.

Additionally .

Linehan supports this and they have overadjusted the offense.

Cris Carter mentioned the offense is reduced to playing in a phone booth as a result.

The defense is stacking 8 in a box and daring the QB to beat them throwing.

We can give Zeke 30 touches a game but it will not matter.

DAK has to break out out of his tendencies.

Otherwise .

next QB up.

Is it permanent, though? Can anyone name a QB who took one too many hits and started hearing footsteps and regressed, who then overcame it to go on to a successful career?

I just know Kellen Moore wasn't one.

Yep. He's not the same player at all anymore. Havent seen many cases like this.

He truly was a great passer his first season and a half, now it's gone.

I would say the Denver game, he started a slow regression. Teams figured stop the run and keep his receivers covered short.

No one is really stopping our running, except Linehan.

Agree on the short passes. And short passes to receivers who aren't moving is even worse. What a scheme!

He has changed. It shook his confidence. But it and especially the following games last year also revealed some things for DCs to copy. That is what they do...look for chinks and pile on. Dak had plenty of chinks.
Would sure love to see him get it going.

Jim Plunkett was abused in New England cut and went to raider nation the rest was history. In Dak's case he never had half the talent Plunkett had so I wouldn't hold out much hope for Dak.

Cool. Did he have to go through a regression in which he bailed on clean pockets, rushed his progressions, lapsed into poor technique, held the ball too long, etc? How do you think he overcame it?

Looks like he may have been aided by riding the bench awhile?

It just illuminated what he is. The guy had a game last year where he threw for 238 yards on 50 attempts, 50. Give a Qb like Wentz 50 passing attempts thats 400 yards minimum.

Wentz had a game with 60 attempts against Cincy. Only had 308 yards. But I thought you said it'd be 400 yards minimum, and thats with 10 more attempts also?

Wentz also has the following games above 40 attempts:
42 attempts- 170 yards
43 attempts- 202 yards
45 attempts- 218 yards

I’m so sick of hearing this excuse. Russell Wilson was sacked 12 times in 2 games and he can still play the game. Personally I think it’s coincidence but if Dak is that mentally weak then he has no business being an NFL QB let alone a captain of the Cowboys.

How many did Wentz have last week? Just curious
