Who's going to replace him though? And by that I mean long term. Hopefully Jerry can draft a quality QB that gives the Cowboys a bright future but I don't have a lot of confidence he will. I hope Dak has the best season of his career. I believe he can do it.

The biggest joke is that anyone would think Dak has a lot of pressure on him. On this team? Yeah, you get attention. But everyone already knows what he is. The arguments are stale, there's only so many times you can say it and see it. And he still got more money than he can ever spend. And he'll always play because contract. Sure, winning would be great, but I doubt he's too worried about anything in Dallas.

Elite QB’s are extremely rare. Between 0-3 in the league any given season. There are sometimes a couple that can kinda ride the fence between good and elite, and it’s usually coupled to elite athleticism (Lamar and Josh Allen).

More teams are realizing that great rosters are rare too, but are the best way to build consistent winning seasons. The Baker Mayfields, Sam Darnolds, Kirk Cousins, Alex Smiths, Geno Smiths, and Dak Prescotts of the world do not move the needle enough to build around (though some teams really value the marketing/sales upside of the “franchise” QB to the NFL simpleton fans). They are just solid competent QBs that go as the rest of the team, but make little to no difference in games where roster talent is close to equal (unless he makes lots of mistakes).
