Was just curious to see how Dak compared to other rookie QBs throughout recent history. Other than RG3 and Russell Wilson and Big Ben, it's really not even close. Now compare his team to all those other teams, and I think you'll also find that it's not really close.

The fact that the next person on the list is RGIII (although I don't think he's like him) makes me still cautious to pronounce anything despite what he's done this year.

RGIII is another on the long list of failed run first QB's ala Glam Newton and Kluckernick. Eventually you have to be able to win from the pocket in the NFL. Vicinity passing, worm killing "QB's" can't do it. RGIII is a fragile, childish, non-leader. Johnny Manziel minus the addiction issues.

Don't really see how you can call Cam a "failed" QB.

It's happening right before your eyes. 52.7% is a train wreck. These WR's and TE's playing QB always crater as soon as they don't have the #1 D giving them the ball at opponents 40 all the time. Cam Newton is horrendous and I predict he won't be in Carolina for long.

He's not having a good year at all but the dude isn't "horrendous". Their entire team is a train wreck.

I feel very confident about Dak. Hell with RGIII or Kaepernick, those guys are shotgun QB who have 1 read and run. What Dak is doing is far more impressive than either one of those knuckle heads. Dak will have much to learn to refine but he is the 1st to say it.

Wilson's Seattle and Ben's Pittsburgh were pretty good. Pitt won 15 straight I believe.

They were very good from a defensive standpoint, but I think those two still pale in comparison to the Boys from an offensive standpoint. They were both centered around running the football though, and did that well.

Not bad for a QB who was being compared to Kyle Orton by a few on this board.

Even taking into account the near 20 year span of different eras of football, my first reaction is that I really wish Dak had thrown about 10 more interceptions.

Dak inherited a 4-12 team.
Excuses or not we were 4-12.

This comparison isn't even about our record but instead shows passing efficiency. Sure we have Zeke and it helps. But we still had a healthy running game last year and we were still 4-12.

Minimizing Dak because of talent around him is the crap the Eagles fans turn to when they feel nervous and insecure over Dak vs Wentz.
Matt Cassell and Weeden had talent around them and we couldn't score at all.

Dak is the biggest reason the Cowboys are 13-2. Last year's quarterbacks did a terrible job protecting the ball, throwing a combined 22 interceptions. Dak has thrown 4 in 15 games. He's on an historic pace. If Dak finishes the Philly game without throwing an interception, he’ll have the second lowest single-season interception percentage in NFL history for a QB who has started all 16 games, trailing only Tom Brady in 2010.

Dak is also averaging 8.0 yards per attempt which is better than any other Cowboys quarterback throughout their history.

Our Pro Bowl rookie QB has been simply sensational.

Dak went into Green Bay and beat the Bengals (?) without Dez and Tyron Smith. Come on now, anyone who still thinks he's a product of the team only is an idiot

68% completion is surreal. Even for a vet.

Those are elite numbers. You can explain them away all you want. But the #s definitively prove that Dak is playing at an elite level. And has put up the best rookie season for a QB in twenty years.
