No QB in this draft can help us next year. Unless we trade for Goff or Wentz

Yeah, good point. Would be nice to a next-year contributor

I'm OK with taking a risk on QB because of the payoff.

But yeah, I see what you're saying

Mine. Not that I actually have a board. I just don't see that much starter-level talent right now. It's disappointing. But who is the good player that dropped to the 4th? Besides Billings? Seems to me the talent has been depleted.

I don't buy that we can't find help either in the DL/CB/S/ or even LB at 101.

Maybe I'm stupid for this but why not Trevone Boykin late in this draft? Was an absolute beast at TCU. 6th round pick? Why not?

Not a single one of these remaining QB's has a future in Dallas imo. Would be a wasted pick. Which is exactly why I fully expect us to take Prescott in the 4th.

Who do you like at 101 to contribute next year? Just curious. I seem to have done all my 'scouting' on 1-3 round prospects because I just don't know much about the guys left

They probably already have a wink wink UDFA deal with Boykin

I just go and see what's available on the CBS Sports Draft Tracker. Just don't understand how this is better for us this year. When we can get a qb next year.

As much as I want a QB, there is no point in signing someone who can't beat out Kellen Moore, IMO. If the Cowboys didn't see enough in Cook to draft him in the 4th round, maybe we should just get another defensive player with the pick.

I thought they would take Prescott in the 4th (if available) as soon as they announced Collins in the 3rd. But Conner Cook is rated 68th overall by Brugler, I could see that as well.

Billings is also rated 30th overall by Brugler and will likely be available when we pick.

The comp 4th pick will be a pick like Anthony Hitchens that the board hates, who turns out to be a good player. Hopefully a WR or Safety.

After we did not grab one of the big 3 QB's, I did not think a QB was worth a day 2 pick, but now that we are on to Saturday I am ok taking a QB, any picks from here on out is a crap shoot any way, might as well try for QB.

That being said, Blair and Higgins are a couple of my favorites, so I would prefer to snag one of them at 101 before we grab a QB.

Blair is another one I'd like to see. Blair is more of a pass rusher than Day but I'd take either.

Is there a DB worth it at 101? KC took Russell who I was hoping would slide.

Zack Sanchez or Jalen Mills wouldn't be bad value at all at 101.

Do we have use for Day now that we have Collins?

I think it would be a bit redundant in terms of picks. They have similar skill sets, but Day's first step is better, while Collins is a bit more stout at the PTA.

I thought the whole premise of aggressively taking a QB was to have a future and a viable alternative simultaneously.

If Romo goes down it wont be Prescott coming in, it will be the mediocre veteran signed at the last minute, the one that sends Kellen Moore packing.

Besides, the Cowboys have already sacrificed a pick in the name of a more promising future.

They need to get a couple of contributors in the 4th round, special teams guys with upside in the 6th.

Get the obligatory rookie free agent QB to compete with Moore for the irrelevent, temporary 3rd QB spot.

I bet Dak is not a Cowboy. This draft reminds me of last year with running backs. They have them lower on their board than everyone else.
