Dak is not awful, let's really look at things closely!

you do not understand what average is all about to claim there are lots of average QBs.

Just to educate you, if there are 32 full time starting QBs then average is #16 or so; give or take one maybe. So there is most two or three average QBs

NOW we know there are starting QBs out there that probably are ahead of better QBs for one reason or another.

SO It is then reasonable to say there is probably 40 or so in the league

Therefore that would mean the 20th best QB would be the dividing line of average.

BUT once again you can only say there are a handful of such
I did not say that. What I said was the league is full of above average lol.

That's fair... but besides Mahomes and MAYBE Burrows.... what other quarterbacks have max contracts that they're earning according to their results at the end of the season?

There's a few max dollar contract quarterbacks who have minimal playoff wins just like Dak.
I think Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are in the category. I ripped Jackson here too but that guy has really taken off. I was wrong about him. In my opinion those 4 are the best by far. Joe B needs to have some wins this year though.

He's awful in the playoffs, and he's awful against good teams. He was drafted in the 4th round, and I think he's exceeded expectations at times, but he's also played like a 4th round QB often. Saying he's awful means that he's terrible all the time, he's not terrible all the time. I'm not hyping him up, but we have to be real with ourselves. I think there could have been other Qb's that have come here and given us more, but why hang our hats on that???

He's our QB, he's not going anywhere, he has a no trade clause (that can be waived if HE chooses to waive it), hopefully he can be the QB we're paying him to be with the big injury he's coming back from! Please give your thoughts!
Brother, you said all that needs to be said. Cold facts that need to be addressed, not made worse by extending him with a $60M per year contract. He's awful in the playoffs, and he's awful against good teams. For those reasons, he can never be the QB we're paying for.

More truth stated by you, he's our QB and he's going nowhere. But we don't have to like it. The same is true about the no trade clause in his contract. I hate that. For too many times, Dak is coming back from a season ending injury. I don't like it, and I don't accept it!

It's time the hopes and dreams of this team is not tied to a QB whose limitation are so well establish, as you have aptly shed light on.

Very well said, but his fans do not want to hear that. To most of his fans he can do not wrong. smh
I don’t know if he has any fans left. Not many Pom Pom wavers for Dak anymore. I was one of them but jumped off the bandwagon 2 years ago.

You need to tear down some of the greats that did not win a SB in order to elevate Dak to some status of some sort. Dak is the worse thing that has ever happened to the Dallas Cowboys. A two faced liar that does not play the game for the money.
I think that is the sad thing...we've seen people rip Romo and even Troy...in attempt to glorify Dak.

If Dak is so good...then his accomplishments should easily stand all on their own.

But we know they aren't. Just don't drag others into the mud about it.

2nd place MVP.

Everything you said in your post is absolutely correct!! I was actually addressing the crowd of people who have double standards when it comes to "quarterback play".

There can't be one set of standards for Cowboys quarterbacks, then a whole different set for other NFL quarterbacks.

But I agree with your post 100 percent.
And yet...you seem very reluctant to get into the nuts and bolts about it.

Romo ain’t a great.

Hear you loud and clear!!

It doesn't matter if he's good or bad at various points. It only matters when he's in the playoffs. He has shown time and time again he cannot rise to the occasion. Deck is not going to get any better. He has already hit his ceiling. He is starting to decline now. He's no longer a rushing threat. He's been forced to become a pocket passer, which is what he is terrible at. He's one of the worst at sensing pressure. How many times do we see him hanging onto the ball too long. How many times does he just throw the ball away when he's being flushed out of the pocket? The guy always wants to make a play on every down instead of living to fight another day. He violates Bill Parcell's
QB commandments regularly.

You'll have to ask him. Maybe he enjoys the negative attention, I don't know
He only gets negative attention from a couple of you.

I don't know why you few have to have a crack at him all the time.

He doesn't abuse others.. always seems in a good mood.

So he wants to start football threads on a football forum... how dare he !!!

Totally agree!!!!!

YouTube the 2016 season.
It’s funny the first 4 years Dallas had a top 3 RB a great OL good WR and TE. Dak crapped the bed. Now we need a stud RB to help Dak the real question is when is Dak going to help the team. 10 years in same old view Dak needs so much more every season and it’s never enough. Unfortunately you can’t surround him with 21 all pro players to hide his shortcomings.

Yea with that awful contract he isn't going anywhere. Dak is awful in the playoffs and he isn't leading the Cowboys to the NFCCG. Just count of the Cowboys not being a contender until Dak and his contract are gone.

If Dak doesn't need to be the starting QB that's on the Cowboys, not Dak. It doesn't make sense to think the expectation is on the player to volunteer to step aside, it's on the team to decide who to start. Additionally, if the team overpaid, blame the team.

I don't know if this is just a case on the bandwagon or off the bandwagon.

There is probably a resting spot also for those who are cuirously cautious about Dak.

I root for him because I think he is a good guy and his success will help the team.

what was the problem for the 15 years before Dak? You have had 100's of players and 2 SB winning HC's during this time come here and not get anywhere close to the NFCCG...you sure its Dak holding this team back?
