Replace XSF with Williams with new OL coach

As far as what to do, I think your options are few. You aren’t going to teach a guy pocket awareness overnight and that’s what he lacks. The only thing I can think of is to drill into him that when he becomes a ball carrier to secure the ball better. He’s pretty reckless with it even in the open field and that should be easy enough to fix. The rest of it is very hard.

One of the DMN articles I read today said he gets the 5th best pass protection as far as time in the pocket in the NFL in 2018. He was 8th last year and 5th again in his strong 2016 year. So I don’t know if it will get a whole lot better than it is right now. He’s got to use the clean pockets he gets now better, and have better awareness when the pocket is breaking down to either throw it away or check it down (or if a sack can’t be avoided make sure you wrap it up).

If we were going to lay the majority of the blame for dak leading the league in sacks, I’d say it would have to be on dak.

Step 1. Pray for Travis Frederick's immediate return
Step 2. Hold onto the ball and get rid of the ball when you feel pressure.
Step 3. Use your legs, when necessary and within reason, to add an extra dimension to the offense. Teams don't have an answer for Dak when he gets going.
Step 4. Hit at least 1, maybe 2 deep balls a game - more than that is always welcome. Not enough splash plays in the passing game, except on go routes with Gallup and plays where Cooper kills it with YAC.
Step 5. Score in the red zone, though a lot of this is on Linehan


That's how you make a deep playoff run.
