Twitter: Dak lobbied for Miller

Miller got a ridiculous offer from Buffalo.

There was nothing Dallas could have done except offer Miller an even more ridiculous contract.

To which Dallas would have been attacked for such a ridiculous offer. You noticing how this goes.

This^^^^ some common sense for a change. It's seems some fans just have to have something/someone to bash.

Dallas never even made an offer, not even a low ball offer............Haaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa

What a loser franchise this is..................how many gullible fans still think this team is "all in"
You would have complained if they made him a low ball offer. You would have complained if they paid him 120 million. And you will complain when they make no offer.

Am I right?

I mean you at least make an offer. You never know right? It is just hard to believe this. Crazy.

Due diligence didn't come back yet.

Would rather guarantee 30 mill for 0 sacks in the playoffs than 4.

Dak: Stephen we need to get Miller in here.
Stephen: Are willing to reduce your contract so we can offer him a good and legitimate offer?
Dak:Oh hell no.
Stephen: Then there is your answer.

The Joneses were too busy working on seating charts for Wrestlemania to be bothered with free agency.

Never made an offer. Can we please pay attention to that? The Cowboys are not going to enter free agency during the first week or so and they are not going to throw big contracts at outside FAs. It is the Jones way now. We don't have to like it, but it leads to a lot less disappointment if we accept that it is the way it is.

I like Miller but Buffalo paid him stupid money. His last double digit sack year was 2018 and he'll turn 33 this year.

He had 9.5 in 15 regular season games in 2021 and another 4 sacks and 6 TFL during the post season run last year.

Guys like Miller and R. Quinn will be sacking the QB proficiently into their mid-30s.

“cowboys never even made an offer.” If management doesn’t care about winning, why should we?

Not that they should have paid Miller $20 million per year, but at least give it an honest effort. I’ve never been this dejected toward the team in my life

I don't know that I buy that Jerry doesn't care about winnings. (Stephen maybe). I think Jerry is just a bad GM who gets caught up in whatever overreactionary way he believes is best to win. The Joneses clearly believe not paying out big contracts to outside FAs is the way to win. Their evidence for that is players like Brandon Carr, who was the catalyst for this philosophy. Never mind all the evidence of teams making and winning Super Bowls with a few high-priced FA additions.

For those saying the contract he got from Buffalo was too big -

Miller’s contract is going to essentially work as a 4 year, $70million contract, and a two year team option that would trigger the rest of the money which definitely will not happen.

A big contract for a player of his age, but not crazy big.

I have to agree. While I am upset at losing out on Miller there is no way I would want him at that ridiculous number. Early reports today said the Rams thought they had Miller "locked up for a return" but they bowed out too when Buffalo's offer popped up.

So it’s looking like Boys have two problems in the FO not just one, a double whammy.

The worst part of it all is how much cap space they currently have. In past years they were tight against the cap so I could understand not going after the bigger names available. This team still has in excess of 25 million of room and they need to save face; fast. Bobby Wagner and/or Tyrann Mathieu would calm a lot of angst against the FO.
