After Troy Aikman's very up and down Rookie year the Cowboys hired Norv as Offensive Cood.
He worked extensivly with Troy on footwork and other mechanical issues.

Troy's performance was much improved the following season.

Dak needs someone like that as QB coach as Dak need a lot of work with technique.
His passes were not accurate in my opinion, sailing on him quite a bit.

Here is hoping !

Why the heck did we sign a pathetic 3rd string quarterback that stunk up the league to show our starting qb bad habits and ways to also stink up the league?

We don’t want good coaches. We want guys that everyone is comfortable around to keep the country club environment in tact.

Instead of hiring a master of mechanics to teach our young QB we are going to hire a guy with 0 experience and success.

Good luck Dak.

I'm trying to understand this. So Prescott needs a QB coach that works on technique? Yeah that's what QB coaches do. Norv Turner didn't invent it.

Dak needs Switzer to emerge as a player, a TE that can get open(Swaim) 10 yards over the middle, a reliable 1,000 yard receiver, and to get Dez Bryant as far away from the team as possible. That isn't a knock on Dez. These two just don't fit. And we know what we must do when something don't fit...

I would actually cut Williams(a guy who I like) and I would keep Butler. Butler has value here. This organization is too stupid to realize it though. Dak will be struck w Dez, Williams, Witten, no Butler, no real threat added to the mix, and only Switzer to provide a positive target !

Also add another runner. Zeke can't continue to carry a 350+ workload

I prefer an experienced QB coach but Dak's accuracy issues are way exaggerated.

Norv Turner had 15 years of coaching experience before he started working with Aikman.

Kellen Moore has zero.

Turner started at the assistant level and worked his way up.

Kellen Moore, like someone else I know, is being handed a job way about his experience level.

I expect the "results" to match.

Moore could be the next Norv, we'll find out. I think he can do a good job. I hope I'm right.

Dak was a very very accurate QB during his rookie season.

That is bore out by his statistics and if you watch the tape.

He was less accurate this past season. However, I don’t know where some fans get the notion that he can’t throw a football and compare him to Tim Tebow of all people.

Dak has shown the ability to be very accurate for large stretches of games. So the ability is there. He just needs to keep improving his footwork.

Um. So, Norv was the OC, right?

And so, did we name Moore the OC when I wasn't looking???

What did I miss here?

Actually, goes to the opposite point... Aikman's QB coaches were not particularly important in the scheme of things... for that, you look at who's the OC.

Dak's footwork needs to be fixed in the offseason. Because of the new nfl rules the coaching staff isn't going to be able to work with him to that extent. He will need to hire his own coach to fix those issues.

No kidding.

Yeah, just like your HC, cut your teeth and get OTJ at the highest level with the greatest stakes possible. Don't worry, the finite careers of all these young players we have are of no consequence. Don't worry, you'll receive support with some proclaiming how smart you are and that one day you will surpass coaching legends in the game. When will that happen, you say?? We don't worry about that here. You're the right kind of guy doing things the right way.

I’m pretty sure Dak goes to QB camps in the off season. If I read that correctly. To work with a private QB coach.

Hopefully, this will be the very last year we'll have to deal with this garbage.

Ship 'em all out next year when this house of cards finally comes crumbling down.

Well let's just hire relic coaches then. No need to groom young coaches. All the old guys have more experience so they're better.

Kellen Moore working to fix Dak's mechanics? Um, has anyone seen Moore's mechanics? This better be do as I say, not as I do. Moore has one of the uglier throwing motions you will see.
