i can't put into words how much respect I have for this dude. So glad he's a Cowboy.

Likewise, I keep waking up and pinching myself wondering if this is a dream while pondering how in the hell he slide to the 4th round. Damn, we're so lucky to have him. We were potentially staring at a QB abyss that could have lasted for years after Romo and it appears we have had a seamless transition with an even higher ceiling.

Wow....well done. I like Dak - but I had no idea about some of this stuff. I'm happy for the kid and hope he continues down his road without any major injuries. Go Cowboys and Dak - another Cowboy Quarterback Great?!!!!! I hope - still has some proving to do, but sounds like we don't have to worry about whether he will work at it - his head is on straight. Let me see if I can put it into words for you:

If someone asked me to design the perfect quarterback to take the reigns from Romo prior to last year and I had completed said request, I'm pretty sure I would have wadded it up and thrown it out the window shortly after learning what Dak was all about. Dak rewrote the book on what I expect from a QB in the NFL going forward. That's the highest praise I can offer.

What really stands out to me is how strong and important a role his mother played in his (and his brothers' lives). Even from the grave, Dak is still respecting her authority and expectations that she drove into him from a baby. Instead of making him a "momma's boy," she taught him how to be a man, so that, when she left this earth, he didn't fold like a cheap chair under all the pressure he was under.

Instead, he took the legacy she left and made it his own. He is still standing on her shoulders now through what most likely is a time of great temptation to take all the credit and accolades and attention that the world gives and start to believe he's invincible and deserves to be treated like a star. Contrast that with some other players on our team and it shows how truly special of a person both he and his mom are/were.

Thank you, Dak's mom, for raising him up this way. Like Mullen said in the video, you can't coach a kid to lead 250 other men like Dak did at their camp. Dak's mom did that and we're lucky to have him representing us for the next 10-15 years.

I have to admit I did not know much about him coming into the NFL and was not sure what he was capable of but the moment I heard the story about his mom and the relationship he had with her I became a fan. Every once in awhile I find someone I like as a person more than a player and he was one of them. Before he took his first snap I was a fan and what he did after for this team was just the icing on the cake. Here's hoping he is a Cowboy for life and we get to share in success with him.

Great Piece, His Mom would be proud, a well grounded young man mature beyond his years and understands what's expected of him as a leader and Quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys....HE GETS IT!!!...

Awesome!

Also if you blindfolded someone upon hearing the MSU AD speak I'm pretty sure they would say "Why is Peyton Manning talking about Dak at MSU?"

Same here. He is catching Witten as my favorite all-time Cowboy. Hasn't passed the old man yet in my book, but he's close.
Are you kidding? If I had three daughters, I'd try to marry them all off to Dak. He's already passed Witten in my book....and that is saying a whole lot.
