agreed .Knowing Jerry he’ll resign Dak to a three years $150,000,000.00 deal and call it a great deal.
this really sums it up .When you pay your QB and WRs close to 1/2 of the cap, they cannot play this badly.
I don't think I even like Dak as a person anymore, and I'm right there with you about him as a player, so...Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem. I know it's easy to rip on the D. But, let's be honest. Dak and the offense have been POOR, especially the last two weeks. The D has actually been improving, and I loved seeing them be more physical today. Not their fault that the offense couldn't score more than 7 in the first half against Tampa, and scored 0 in the first half against GB (even AFTER a pick).
I don't understand why we aren't taking deep shots. We have elite WRs in Lamb and Pickens. If you have WRs like them who thrive in deep passes (like we saw last season), then we SHOULD take a few shots every so often. Even if it doesn't succeed, it plants a seed of doubt in the opposing D, and it gets them to back off. But, for whatever reason, we aren't doing that. We're just dinking and dunking with WRs who are capable of more than that. But then, tonight, the one time they tried that, Dak threw it right to the Packers after we got a pick.
So, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to say it. I like Dak. But, it's time to find the next franchise QB. This team clearly doesn't have a spark. The offense looks woeful, despite over $100 mil allocated to that side in cap space ($60M of which to the QB). I think the time has come for 1. Us to get a more proper HC (maybe someone like Sean McDermott) and 2. It's time to find the next QB. I think we'd sit the rookie a year behind Dak to learn the pro game, but I think 2027 has to be the last year. Dak looks to be regressing.
My ONE concern is that I DO NOT want Archie Manning. But, I am concerned/expecting Jerry to draft him for his last name to try to sell him as the next franchise QB.

What is Tyler Smith good at? Because the offense and run game was much better with TJ Bass starting.
I don’t think we can cut him June 1 st this year. Maybe after 2027, so June 1st 2028. I like your earlier idea of using a draft pick on a QB. Draft a QB to develop this draft and then play Dak one more year and then cut ties and go with the young pup.I get that, and I suppose there's nothing stopping us from June 1 cutting him this year if we wanted to. I just think that I wouldn't want to start a rookie QB with the way this team is right now.

FO and coaching have been the issue and this is the result you get.
Honest question.
Would this offense look worse with Sam Howell?
The time to do it was when we had Lance for one more year. We could have cut ties with Dak and started Lance. Then with a top 5 pick draft a QB and be purged of Dak’s contract. When I suggested this repeatedly during Dak’s contract negotiations I was called a “hater” amount other things. Now 2 years later it’s painfully obvious we’re not going anywhere and we have this contract hanging over our heads.Jerry is way too dumb to understand when it's time to tear it down and start over.
finding a trade partner, good luckWe are stuck with him for 2027 and 2028. Spending resources trying to replace him now would only take away from trying to build a better team.
UNLESS you can talk Dak into waiving his no-trade clause and you find some team willing to make a deal for him. Good luck with that.
