Dak Prescott Hand injury

Watching all or nothing episode 7. I am watching where Dak is saying he is having trouble gripping the ball with and without the gloves on. Wonder if his hand injury effected his accuracy and confidence more than we believed.

That wasn't very late in the season though. He had already been struggling much earlier than that

I think it did in that game, but I wouldn't think much longer than that.

If he’s talking about game 7...then you’re wrong.

He was playing as well anyone in the league at that point. Everyone was drooling about Wentz but Dak was right there with him in touchdowns and our offense was among the most consistent in the league.

Sure he missed some throws...who doesn’t? But when your offense is consistently putting up 30 points and our QB is scoring points and protecting the ball...the QB is not the problem.

If the season was 8 games long, Dak was all pro..it didn’t start going downhill until the Falcons game which was the 9th game if memory serves me correctly.

******Edit: I see its episode 7, not game 7. I’m not that far in All or Nothing to know what point of the season this episode is but my point still stands.

While the stats might have said 1 thing, the first 8 games of 2017 would not have kept Romo on the bench like the 1st 8 of 2016!

He was actually better during he first 8 games of 2017 than 2016!

In every possible way.

Romo never came off the bench because we won 8 straight games by the time he was healthy. It was more about chemistry. If Zeke never breaks the long run against Pittsburgh or if Chris Jones didn’t succeed in a fake punt against Philly..Romo gets his job back.

He was average, maybe a tad above average in the first 8 games. It’s a myth being spread by Dak slobberers that he was having some great year. The only area where he was notable was TD passes, which is a lousy way to judge QB play anyway. He was significantly down in just about every other measurement, including rating, YPA, completion percentage, etc.

Compare his statistics to your favorite QBs first two seasons.

Yeah that's what I was gonna ask...was it episode 7 or was it game 7.....

1st 8 games

153-259 for 1818 yards. 16 TD. 4 int. PR = 98. Those numbers over a year would be consistent with being one of the top 10 (actually likely, top 7 or 8) passers in the league.

Add in 26 runs for 195 yards and 2 TDs and you've really got much more than an "average" performance.

Average means middle of the pack son. So he'd be ranked around 16 according to your invalid logic.

Touchdown passes are a lousy way to judge a QB? Are you on wet?

2016 3rd down - 54 conversions on 126 attempts 92 passer rating 7.8 YPA

2017 3rd down - 58 conversions on 149 attempts 85 passer rating 6.7 YPA

He was not the same QB even through the first 8 games that he was in 2016. Defenses adjusted to him and he was not near as comfortable.

After the first 8 games of last season..

Dak was on pace for over 4,000 total yards, 40 total touchdowns, 8 interceptions and our offense was averaging 28 a game. We just came off a 5 game stretch where we were averaging 33 a game. For comparasion sake, we averaged 26 the season before.

Then Atlanta happened game 9 and everything went downhill.

But oh yeah..touchdowns and points are a lousy way to judge a QB.

It was because ti was cold. He switched the glove and it was fine.

You’re right.

He was better.

More touchdowns, yards...our offense was scoring more points despite our running game not being quite as dynamic.

I’m not saying he was as good last season as his rookie year but that all fell apart starting the second half of the season. When Zeke’s suspension started and he got beat to a bloody pulp against Atlanta.
