Our 2017, 2018, and 2019 drafts overall have probably been below average collectively. Along with terrible free agent signings along the way. Front office made 2 good moves that was amari and quinn. both were trades using draft picks.
How many teams nail their drafts every season?
Awuzie, Lewis and Woods have been solid contributors and this season will make or break them really as to their true value.
The jury is still out on Connor Williams.
LVE is a pro bowl LB when healthy.
Gallup is a legit WR2.
2019 draft is still work in progress with Amari Cooper as effectively our first round pick who is widely regarded as a top 10-15 WR.
Collins (arguably our best O lineman for periods last season) and Jones (All Pro corner) came in 2015 as well. Martin and Lawrence came in 2014. Granted I stated since 2016 but realistically the 2014 and 2015 drafts have been a part of the previous four seasons..
Cobb, Quinn were excellent value in free agency.
Mayowa led the team in sacks in 2017.
Admittedly Hurns was horrific value and Carroll was pointless but we didn't really spend big money in free agency - a mistake arguably yes but to balance it out we haven't spunked our junk on exactly that.
My biggest disappointment was the Taco Charlton pick. I probably watch less than 1% of college games compared with our scouts but along with most people on here, his selection was called out as being dreadful at the time. Just beyond comprehension really.
The general consensus is that the 2020 draft was strong but obviously .
My point being that we have come a long way since the draft class of 2012.
We have had good teams all of the past four seasons.
