Dak Prescott is poised to break several Dallas Cowboys franchise passing records in 2025

You forgot to mention Dak playing very well in the wildward playoff win at home against the Seahawks in 2019.

He also played well the following week in the divisional playoff loss against the Rams in 2019.

VerVer

Very well in the Seattle win? 223 yards passing, only 1 td and an int. Zeke ran for 137 yards, defense held Seattle to 73 yards rushning. Dallas won in spite of Dak, not because of what he did.

And the Rams game? 266 yards passing and 1 td. Not bad, but very well? If you say so, I don't.

But that's fine, let's revisit at the end of Dak's contract and see how he does...

You forgot to mention Dak also ran for a TD vs Seahawks, so that makes 2 TDs he contributed in that game.

Let's not confuse piling up stats in today's Madden-version, fantasy football, offense-first NFL as a comparison to QBs or any other position of yesteryear. Today, there are more than a dozen wide receivers and tight ends who easily eclipse the number of yards and receptions than Drew Pearson's best season. Roger Staubach averaged 173 yards passing per regular season game during his career - Aikman averaged 200 yards. Roger threw a total of 153 TDs in his 11 year career which averages out to about 14 TDs per season. By today's standards, Roger and likely Troy wouldn't start for most teams - they would be considered "bus drivers." However, Roger, Troy, and Drew all are all in the Hall of Fame, Ring of Honor, and SB champions.
Roger, Troy and Drew would have had more completions, if that's what they were asked to do...and if they had more games per season. They won the way they had to win, just as they probably would do in today's league.

You used to be one of his biggest supporters, JC. You've gone to the dark side. Smh
I will still support him as he is our QB. I do not think they needed to extend him at the time, and should have played out his contract. Then go from there.
My confidence in him, for lack of a better word, has fallen off.

And I was never 100% ALL IN on him either. I kept waiting for him to make me feel than 60 to 70% he is the guy.

They would eclipse every QB but Brady and Mahomes out there today. why? first off because back then defenses could knock the crap out of you on every down. Secondly, the game was more about power offense and rushing.
Now games are like Dolphins v Chargers of the 80s. Fouts v Moreno, tons of yards and points
