I've seen numerous clowns on this very forum question Dak's ability to read a defense. At one point, they clearly show you that he goes through 5 progressions on ONE play.

If you watched this video and still stick to your guns, do us all a favor and go find a new sport to be a fan of.

It also seems we opened the offense up versus the Steelers, similar to week 6 or 7 last season.

Sidenote: That sideline throw to Lamb was something else. Great catch as well.

Found it crazy that Zeke as a veteran is jogging routes. Doing his best Pickens imitation I suppose.

I always enjoy Chase Daniel's film breakdown on the Cowboys. He is always spot on. Thanks for sharing.

Dak played great, except for his 2 interceptions (terrible and unnecessary decisions). He needs to stop being such an unnecessary risk taker.

At the 13:15 minute mark, Chase Daniel explains how Dak went to his 5th progression...yes, 5th progression...to find a late-opening Rico Dowdle for a 23 yard TD pass! This pretty much destroys the frequent naysayers who repeatedly and falsely state Dak can't make more than a 2 progression read!

Great film breakdown. Dak played great (other than his 2 unnecessary interceptions). Thanks again for sharing.

The turnovers were pretty bad from that game, but his track record shows that he doesn't usually turn the ball over much at all.

The intentional grounding 3rd and inches play was abysmal. That sequence was horrid. A vet QB should never commit that kind of error.

The fumble happened bc he held onto the ball too long and now has concrete in his feet. He is now plodding compared to his agility a few years ago. It happens with age for sure— but he has to compensate for his lack of mobility by getting rid of the ball faster and intelligently throwing the ball away instead of trying to make something happen every down.

The INTs were also poor decisions and cost us points. He needs to dial down some of the risk taking and work more on tempo, tone, efficiency, and playing crisp, clean football. The points will come when he leads this team with poise and precision.

All that said— he threw some dimes on Sunday night, and made some big plays that helped us eek out the W. I am glad we won, but truthfully we should have walked away with a 10+ point comfortable win instead of heart-attack last second TD pass.

I am hopeful the offense is starting to round into form. It is what happened at this point last season. Huge game vs Detroit this week. Would be awesome if he plays his best game of the year and helps us go into the bye with some hope and momentum

The negative rhetoric and talking points is mostly directed at the lack of success in playoffs. And it expands from there. I’ve always tried to be more in the middle which I believe most fans are.

They never want to applaud his success during regular season. And I understand everyone’s frustration. We all are. But blaming one of the reasons we are competitive at all is short sighted and either shallow analysis or simply agenda driven.

I’ve been a critic on some fronts as well but he’s obviously been good enough for Cowboys to remain a playoff contender despite not having more success.

He had no time on the grounding call. He was gonna ground it or take a sack. Yes we'd like to see the ball come out before grounding is an issue, but that would've been really fast, the rush got there pretty quick, before the play had developed.

Doesn't change the fact Dak is not good at getting rid of the ball in those situations. I just don't think that play is the best example.

Saving the Cowboys my arse. That's something you can say when he reached an NFCCG.

Anything else is just business as usual. A winning season by beating up the little guys and then faltering when it truly matters. Yeah yeah I know, it's everyone's but Dak's fault for you Daksters and we'll never agree on that.

But "saving the Cowboys" is way too much at this point. Stuff like saving the game against the Steelers (when he had problems on his own in the first half) is the least he can and should do as QB1 every now and then.

Taking the team into late January... that's what I can call "saving the Cowboys". Right now he's just doing the usual bus driver stuff.

He had Lamb wide open on the underneath crossing route, but the slightest of hesitation allowed the rush to get there. I know the critique of Dak here is that he wasn't perfect on the play, but 3rd and 1 he needs to make that throw when his top WR has no one within 5 yards. This is probably a really good example of why we don't see the Cowboys running more play action this year.....your QB is naturally going to be a thousandth of a second slower after having his back turned to the defense, and this OL doesn't hold up consistently enough.

Why is the defense not getting any credit for their performance against Pittsburgh? Seems to me they're the ones who 'saved the season' last week.
Fair point, but you also have to look at who the opponent was. Just one game this year has Pittsburgh scored more than 20 points. They've a bottom 10 offense with a top 10 defense. I'm struggling with the extreme 'Dak Prescott is saving the Cowboys' narrative given the amount of negative plays Sunday night, but the offense certainly had the tougher task.

The defense has gotten some praise, even from some forum members. The usual attention has been greatly overshadowed by one position but that is not unusual. No team, at any level of the sport, is spared that obsessive scrutiny.

From a fan perspective, it would be wonderful if more media and content creators were available that focus on other areas of football teams. In this instance, it would be really good if more ex-defensive coordinators, for example, would make YouTube videos breaking down units' pluses and minuses.

Unfortunately, those types of creators exist in deserts compared to the main providers attracting clicks, such as ex-NFL quarterbacks and even those dedicated to individual quarterbacks specifically. Consistent, repetitive analysis, good or bad, is just not as sexy creation-wise concerning defense or even offense overall. Heck, there is an audience for breakdown of coaches' game plan execution but that viewership is small by comparison. It is what it is.
