He had no choice. He was always going to sign it. 31 million vs sitting out the season for no pay? He would never make that money back. Signing now is just more of what he has always been...a team guy. And he knows a QB has to be with the team and preparing.

This contract is NOT about the money. It has been and still is about length and the 4 years of top pay already lost to being a 4th round pick. He isn’t just thinking about 4-5 years, but that with tags, 5 years can easily become 6-7 years before he can hit free agency again, possibly too late for a legitimate second bite of the Apple. Cowboys should just agree to the 4 year contract, knowing they will still have 4-6 years of control.

The signing only strengthens my belief Prescott's ultimate goal is signing a contract averaging between Wilson and whatever Mahomes ultimately gets in the future. If my assumption is true, my only question is whether he will continue seeking that particular contract from Jerry Jones at some point or from another club?
