Dallas created the perfect storm for themselves.

Dak wants an insane deal trying to be one of the highest paid quarterbacks due to the offense success he has had(insert stat argument here). Plus it's the "Cowboys". He's shown himself to be a top 10 quarterback. Above average not elite.

Has great stats however...

The rest of the league and Cowboys front office knows he plays with argurably a top 5 offense going into the season. The offense is leaking talent everywhere. Damn near every quarterback would love to be surronded by the talent he has.

I just have a hard time giving him anything more than 32m a year with little playoff success. However sadly this is how quarterbacks get rated even though it's a team sport. He's had bad coaching and one good year of solid defense. He does however fail to show up for big games.

It has been Dallas m.o for years. Outstanding offense with Swiss chees defense. Its time to spend on the defense as past hero shows you need a solid defense as well

Hallelujah. Now the endless threads about Dak's contract can phase themselves out and maybe every new thread won't also be trying to convince me of how good or bad he is. Wishful thinking, I know.

Dak signing the tender was always a foregone conclusion. By signing now, with one fell swoop, he eliminates further talk of holdouts, not being a team player, or putting coach mac at a disadvantage by not being able to work installing a new system with his starting qb. Truth is dak's a good guy and wanted to put the distractions to bed. Kudos to dak. Kudos also to Stephen for drawing a line in the pie and sticking to it. If revenues fall this year, so will salaries and the cap. Something dak and his agent didn't plan for. Advantage Stephen.

The threat of someone else showing that any decent QB can be successful in this offense. Same reason he never comes out of games even when the result is certain.
You mean Garrett didn't have the authority to bench Dak.........or start Romo in 2016 when healthy................OR

Maybe the team knew Dak wasn't the anchor???

Dak Haters come out and play.....

Now wait another year and if he he plays well he’ll ask for even more money. I guess the prove it guys can’t say anything next year if he plays well and gets a huge contract.

Wow, people really have no idea what's going on here.
@shabazz is just playing dumb for whatever reason. This is how he copes with what's going on lol.

If the Cowboys felt like he does about Dak they would've rescinded their offer and started Dalton. But these guys will sit here and try to convince those with brains that this means they have no faith in him even though Dak is the one who turned them down and betted on himself.

I think that injury reported the other day to an OL where his Achilles was injured and put him out for the year may have reminded Dak injuries happen out of nowhere..

by signing, he has also guaranteed his 2021 tender to where he is going to get $68 mi over 2 years since the 2020 is now signed.

I do not blame him.

But people need to get over the fact that for Dak..its all about the money.

its not about being a Cowboy or anything about fame.

He would be doing the same thing to any team. We ain't special. Neither is the team.

I have not heard Dak ever say he is doing things for the Franchise or its fans.

He is mercenary period.

Glad that is straightened out.

Do not want to look at Dak in anything but clear eyed views.

:omg:

I blame Jerry for this,He should have made Dak an offer he could not refuse early last season, now its just out of control and the only way its ending if they acquiesce the 4 year deal.

Takes 2 to tango. Dak is smart he won’t signing last year for a discount.

You were having a great post until you posted this. Why go there when all the evidence proves you wrong?

The signing only strengthens my belief Prescott's ultimate goal is signing a contract averaging between Wilson and whatever Mahomes ultimately gets in the future. If my assumption is true, my only question is whether he will continue seeking that particular contract from Jerry Jones at some point or from another club?
The money per year isn't in question it's the years on the contract. 34-35 million is what he signs for but he wants 4 years and Dallas wants 5 or more years. That's the holdup and not the money per year
