He's not paid to lead or win. He's paid to put up numbers, make the games look close, and keep the charade of competence going.

Imagine being an NFL player who has succeeded off their talent their whole lives. Now you have reached a level where talent is not enough and you experience real struggle for the first time in your young life. You look to the professional, highly paid coaches for help. They have no answers.

Now what?

Why would Belechek come to a soft team with no cap room or significant draft capitol to change ?
It's very much a marriage of convenience.

The Cowboys have an opening, and they offer Belichick the best chance to break Shula's career coaching wins record.

Plus, they (Jones and Belichick) weirdly like each other.

I just want to be in the room when Belichick wants to tell them they can all go play for Arlington High School, but Jerry comes in the locker room and tells them how great they are.

IF they hire Belichick, his two biggest hires will be Offensive Coordinator and whoever he brings in to help with the salary cap.

Culture and Stephen's ineptness in his role are this team's biggest issues right now. Both are the most fixable too.

Belichick will come onto a team with a number 1 draft pick and a beaten down team with no morale, who will bow to his every order instead of acting entitled like they currently are. A couple more blowouts and this entitled mentality will die down. They’ll soon adapt to the mentality the 2017 Browns had. Then Belichick will come in and potentially “save the day”.

But but Dak said he and Ceedee were going to be the best QB WR combination of all time. I have never heard players talk so much and never back it up as much as Jerrah’s current Cowboys do. Complete proof they have a weak head coach because the senile old man is still the face of this team. Go figure, the old man loves to talk and so do his players.

It’s been that way for close to 30 years the problem is both the players and the 2 bimbos in the press box

Belechek is like Parcels. He wants full autonomy and would never tolerate an owner like Jerry meddling. Jerry and Stephen would have to drastically change how they operate.
