the cap is nothing but an excuse for Jerry and you have fallen for it. Jerry could have as easily signed Henry, but chose not to. instead he chose Zeke who probably couldn't get a job anywhere else and 4th string RB called Dowdle.

Jerry chooses not to sign players. the cap room hasn't been a problem for past 8 years. no different than any other team in NFL, but somehow they do it.
Good post

Not even Dak's biggest haters are going to suggest that todays loss is ALL on him.. but the reality does have to meet facts. The fact is that you shouldn't be blaming the 48th depth guy on the roster for a loss.. salary DOES dictate the amount of blame you are going to get.

So we have a rookie OLine.. and they protected Dak statistically 'average'.. from time of clean pocket and stats. The Oline did a really poor job for the running game. The running game is a big problem. Having said that.. we invested zero money into the run game. Doddle Daddle is on near min, Zeke on Min, vaugh on rookie, luepke on min. So can we get real about how much blame you can put on a group that has literally zero resources allocated.

Defence is missing three of its biggest elements (Bland, Parsons, Lawrence) and that is after you consider that, as a team, we are the 28th ranked team and only invest around 25% of our cap on defence - compared to the top teams that invest around 45-50%. That stuff MATTERS if you want to be a good team.

In contrast.. our offence is 9th highest spend.. but break that down further and our QB is 2nd highest spend. If you take out the QB then we are the the 27th spending offence.

SO the reality of our squad, in terms of dollars, is that our defence is 28th, our offence excluding QB is 27th, our special teams is around 20th (but all teams are basically within a mil of each other). Our QB is 2nd.

If you think that doesn't make a difference then you are truly deluded. We are investing big dollars into one position.. that means that position HAS to meet that expectation each and every week. That means that Dak needs to do MORE with LESS.. that is what he asked for when he demanded his contract. This is a cap league.. if we want to spend $59M on one position then EVERY other position will be weaker. You can't then blame those lesser guys.. those budget guys for when things go bad.

Dak was horrendous this game.. absolutely lights out bad. And it isn't the first time and it won't be the last time. This is a middle of the range QB that is taking a HUGE part of our cap.. that is never going to be a long term winning strategy. Dak and Jerry have cost this team any chance of success and we are now stuck in this living nightmare for another four years. The cap does not lie.

He also choose to trade for Trance, when stating he had every intention of resigning Dak.

What was the point? He is an idiot.

BS..... that's what everyone said in the last contract yet, the last three years of the contract we had 15M or more available on the cap. they could have easily opened another 20M on the cap this year and there was an article that showed cowboys sitting pretty with easily being able to open 63M on the cap.

smart GMs do it. Philly handed out a whole bunch of top 5 contracts this year....how come they can do it?

its not about the cap....its about Jerry's ineptitute.
No, it's about both.

The only QB w/ a top contract winning super bowls is Mahomes, and he signed a team friendly deal by signing long term so the team could push it down the road and sign Chris Jones.

It's not all on Dak. But his Stans are already pointing fingers at the defense, and only the defense.

Who thought it would be a good idea to go into the season with these running backs? And this defensive line? And these receivers? I just don't understand. Jerry has surrounded himself in an echo chamber.

And every person that we've extended in the last couple of years played like crap today. Absolute crap. Let's stop handing out these extensions just because you somewhat hit on a draft pick, jerry. We remember those drafts from the mid-90s.

Steel, digs, martin, dac, and I'm sure I'm forgetting one person, lawrence, all played like crap. Well Lawrence didn't play but he has never lived up to the extension.

Does he not see a pattern of handing out these extensions and production just hitting the floor?
i remember that 90 mil to Zeke and he never played good again....i think we are in a big slump that i lay at foot of coaches and leadership...much at foot of Jone's and we cant fire them

lol of course it’s his fault! He’s a very low IQ quarterback and sadly we are stuck with him. I have no motivation to root for this team anymore.

What about y’all?
hope i dont pick up the bottle again??

I love when GM Jethro gives big money contract's immediately after torn ACL's. That's my favorite.

Dak once said, when asked about taking a team friendly deal, that it wasn’t his job to worry about the cap.

So any complaints about not having the weapons fall on deaf ears.

He’s had the weapons in the past, didn’t get the job done. He wanted to get paid like an elite QB, then put forth elite QB play.

With a 5th quarter. That required a muffed punt at the 16 and a missed extra point just to make OT

I was not aware elite required luck.
Yes. He's very lucky. 3 postseasons just full of Lady Luck.

So lucky.

HEY! He's got a mansion to demolish and rebuild in the middle of the season. That stuff costs money! Do you know how much it costs just to remodel a kitchen!? Now do a whole mansion...team friendly my rear. He's gotta build that house...for the brotherhood!

Who is going to call out this horrendous O-line? Did they throw a legit block all day? Tom Brady in his prime wouldn't have thrown a TD pass today behind them.

And anyone who doesn't think that Jerry deliberately tanked this team from the moment the final whistle blew against Green Bay last January is dreaming.

The chickens have come home to roost.
got to be careful i dont look to addiction to deal with pain
