Dak Prescott was walking with a slight limp while going into the locker room

After they got behind, Arizona blitzed on just about every play. It’s been that way all year. Defense can’t stop anyone and they end up playing from behind thus becoming one dimensional.
The secret is out;
Dak gets happy feet when he is under pressure, and he chokes.
Teams know that is the key to stopping the Cowboys.
So much for him being an "MVP".

If you are referring to Romo then the difference between him and Dak is that had Dak played better then the team would have won at least one of the play off games in 2022 and 2023 - particularly the latter when he threw two interceptions with what was effectively a Superbowl calibre team.

Romo could only really be blamed in the play offs for a play when he wasn't even playing quarterback against the Seahawks. Even then, had he received a regulation block then he runs in for a touchdown. He made the throw to win the game against the eventual Superbowl champions who beat the 16-0 Patriots but Crayton hesitated on his route, the o-line nearly killed him against the Vikings whilst against the Packers Murray fumbled the ball leaving 3-7 points on the field, Dan Bailey missed a regulation field goal which left just enough time for Rodgers to get the Packers in field goal range (6 point swing) and Dez decided to try and score a touchdown rather than simply survive the ground having secured the catch in the air.
SMH with this one. Dez getting faulted on "the catch" for trying to score a touchdown that the ref at the goal line initially raised his hand up declaring TD. The Romo defense at it's best.......I liked Romo and hoped for him too, but this argument is likened to a Lawyer getting a serial killer, with video, DNA, and fingerprints form the crime scene.......misdemeanor charges. Whoa Swagger, whoa!

The fact it was Romo throwing the ball to Dez was irrelevant. It could have been Brian Hoyer and I would make the same point.

Did I think it was a catch? Yes. But, given how the rules were interpreted back then you ran the risk as a receiver of potentially not surviving the ground to complete the process of a catch. So given the above, was it the percentage play to simply secure the catch at the 2 yard line and rely on the best running game in the league with four downs to punch it in for a touchdown which would have also run off some clock or try to score a touchdown on the same play and risk losing control of the ball?

I love me some Dez but he didn't have to reach for the touchdown on that play.

Swagger on this one, not sure how we got to "the catch", but I just concluded......your writings suggest you're a loyal friend no matter what. Definitely admire staying on your convictions. I'm crying happiness that Antonio is loved like that and the lengths one would venture too. Simply beautiful.
Disclaimer for protection: I liked, hoped and pulled for Romo too........but.........I'm hoping to keep the Fan Club away or the accusation of being a Dak lover. 5,4,3,2,1........incoming.

Here comes the phantom injury
It wasn’t phantom . His ankle got rolled on. It was close to be pretty serious. However, that had nothing to do with the loss. They are just a team that lacks talent at a lot of positions and I don’t think the coaching is very good, including Schotty. The entire secondary and LBer corp stinks. I think they have good DTs but not great. The problem is they get lots of double teams because the DEs are so weak. Eze is the only DE I really like. The OLine is overrated. Dak struggles against teams that are good. Ferguson seems prone to dropping important passes or fumbling. Ceedee and Pickens are elite but you can control them by beating the OLine and pressuring the QB. I like J Williams but he often taken out of games because we are getting behind and having to pass.

Nothing to do with the Romo fan club - I just get sick and tired of people claiming Dak Prescott is a better or a similar quarterback to Tony Romo. People who watched the games and have awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of all those teams who understand football know that Romo was a better quarterback. I just wish he had the teams Prescott had in 2022 and 2023 and that he started the play off game against the Packers in 2016 - it wouldn't have taken until late in the 2nd quarter for him to tear up one of the worst pass defenses to ever play in the play offs. By way of comparison the Falcons laid 44 points on that same sorry defense the following week and they went easy - they could have scored over 50 points if needed. To be fair, that wasn't on a Dak. A sensible front office would not have started a rookie quarterback whose performances had understandably started to dip towards the end of the season over a veteran All Pro quarterback.

I don't think you are a Dak lover. I think you deflect too much blame away from his performances when he has had teams that were good enough to compete and at least reach Superbowls. I think you expect the Cowboys to have Superbowl calibre teams every season which isn't realistic. They had a window under Dak in 2022 and 2023. How many quarterbacks have more than 2 years of genuine Superbowl competing calibre teams during their career at the same team? I would argue not that many. He didn't get it done and following the Packers loss, that was the time to move on from him and start again. I'm not bigging up the front office. They have done a horrible job since the play off loss to the Packers when Dak threw a pick 6 and ultimately gave the Packers another TD with a bad interception and the defense was awful as well.

I'm always happy to hear where Romo's individual play lost those play off games outside of the Seattle game where he wasn't even playing quarterback on the play at the end of the game.

A bit sensitive....I referenced we're familiar with QB play that hasn't rendered post season success that you made mention of. The 30-year drought isn't exclusive to our current QB. No problem if you suggest Romo is better than Dak. It's opinion.

Now as for Dez fault with "the catch"......not sure why you don't understand a football game is a series of many factors & situations.....For example to "the catch" game........do you realized there was a play, well-designed to perfection with big yardage available, that had DeMarco Murray go through a BIG hole but unfortunately Julius Peppers stuck his hand out, causing a fumble. The play had 6 points or at least a FG possible and favorable field position that may have further hampered an injured (hamstring) Aaron Rodgers. That play had significant impact, as a game is decided on breaks, momentum, or ball bouncing your way......all part of game adversity. DeMarco Murray didn't get vilified or heaped blame on for that like we see now on just one player. As for "the catch", you seemed to just get stuck on Dez trying to make a play like our QB was trying to make things happen on the same play, being a deflection to some Folklore legacy. Maybe we could say......should have just went with getting the 1st down or oops.....did Jason Garrett call that play? But not Dez for effort on that play.

As for the Seatle greased ball snap.....that was unfortunate and possibly the sign that we were snakebitten and things to come. The only regret I saw there was T.O. earned a meme for defending his QB.....and the next year he out the door without any defense by the QB he previously defended. Karma. hex, jinx, roots, voodoo, football gods punishing such. Hmmm.

As for Super Bowls.....I don't expect such because when it looks favorable (GB playoff games) and prior (NY Giants, Eagles, Skins) when 8-8 has you win or go home, or NY Giants and we're home (Crayton game your mentioned) .....we wet the bed. Games we've had both QBs under center. It is what it's been. And I see when our team is bad, not sure how that gets to be a mystery so often. I don't' look at a mule and get convinced I'm looking at a racehorse so easily. Not me.

Man, I still laugh thinking about when Dak got hurt and everybody jumped ship — then Rush came in and started stacking W’s! Now y’all mad at him for winning when Dak couldn’t! You can’t spell “Rush Hour” without “W!”.
And what a stud Cooper “2112” Rush has been in Baltimore! How did we let a once in a lifetime QB get away?

No QB is going to do well when being blitzed every play. Dak did extraordinary under the circumstances last night. You’re just too blinded by your hate or just plain ignorant.

Rush was never going to succeed in an offense built for a running quarterback. That's not the way he plays.
I was surprised that the Ravens took him.
But it doesn't change the fact that Rush outplayed Dak Prescott while in Dallas.

Is Baltimore set up to carry the QB like in Dallas? That should tell you something when Cooper Rush can come in a win more games than dak the almighty prescott.

Again, I don't disagree really with any of what you wrote. I think at times I don't fully get your style of writing - perhaps that's more on me.

I did mention both the Murray fumble and Bailey missed field goal and subsequent Packers field goal just before half time (6 point swing) in a previous post and agree with your comments.

Perhaps I was being harsh on Dez but given the questionable rules at that time for what actually constituted a catch, I do think he should have just ensured he landed with the ball intact. I don't blame him as I get he was just trying to make a play but it's frustrating nonetheless.

Given how the play was drawn up for "the catch" I don't think Romo could have gone elsewhere. Some argue that he should have thrown the ball to Beasley but he may not have seen him as he was behind the o-line and Packers' d-line and even if he did it he would have had to throw a lofted air ball type pass which could have been broken up or even intercepted. The throw to Dez was the correct decision on the play but Garrett could have drawn up another play using say Beasley on a catch in the slot.

Romo made a load of bone headed plays - I'm not ignorant to that but I do think he made a lot of those plays as he was mostly trying to do too much knowing he had bad defenses that wouldn't help him out and/or the o-line would regularly have him running for his life.

We’ll just see this one differently then. All good.
