Dak Prescott

Or when he rolls out and has half the field to work with.. it’s either the middle or what’s in front of him and he’s decisive.

Unlike RG3, he gets through his progressions. But he doesn’t throw it because he can’t anticipate WRs being open worth anything and he’s way too passive..

I really think there is an injury he is playing through. His hand was badly swollen in the Commanders game and his accuracy has been off badly, I really wonder if he is playing through something we don't know about. Playing at zero degrees can explain some of his passes being off today, but its been half a season of his accuracy being off.

i totally agree with you. dak does NOT anticipate his WRs open. but it may not totally be him.. these WRs find ways to not be where theyre supposed to be wayy too often.. causing dak not to trust them to be where he wants to throw. Our WR route tree is a joke.. ill give dak one more year

His best throws of the latter half of the season was when his hand was hurt and that OL was absolutely dominating and giving him time..

These are flaws of Dak that were consensus in his pre-draft scouting report. They consistently called out he doesn’t anticipate or throw WRs open and his mechanics get bad at times, particularly when he ‘feels’ pressure..

Oh yea, he only threw for 3145 yards which is only 197 yrds per game average. Horrible

You should read his pre-draft scouting report. It’s not the WRs, it’s him...

There were a great thread of comments in Blogging the Boys where a poster provided a whole bunch of GIFs just from the Oakland game of just Dak staring down WRs that were open by NFL standards but he never makes the throw.

It’s a timing-based offense too, so anticipation is even more a necessity for him to make WRs succeed..

Romo’s best year was when they were second to last in passing attempts, but both TWill and Dez were two of the top 3 WRs on go routes. Romo was making defenses pay on the easiest route to defend.

He threw like 37 TDs and only 9 INTs and they hardly used play action. Of course that year he didn’t have the buffoon Garrett constantly interfering in playcalling and he has Linehan and plenty of control.

Passing yardage isn’t really that big a deal if you can make the defense pay, meaning efficiency.

Dak was calling pass plays on nickel packages when given the run-pass option even with Zeke back..

Look at RG3s second year stats. Looks kinda similar to Daks huh

The Shanahans didn’t want RG3 in reality and drafted Cousins for a reason..

We benched an elite QB that Shanahan actually wanted to draft on the other hand for this dude..

It’s telling because boy did the slobberers bristle when you compared him to RGIII. “Bu-bu-but RGIII is a gimmick QB. Dak’s a real QB.” And of course, now you have to squint to tell them apart. Dak slobberers: an endless resource of entertainment.

I doubt he would have played today if the hand is a significant issue...

You should see my breakdown I did on this after last year's loss to GB. This is more than a pure coincidence imo and I hope this organization doesn't waste two more years figuring it out. Great guy he just doesn't have elite skills and to this point doesn't appear to be a leader either. Even watching today's game his eyes seem scared, timid, and waiting. Look back at Aikman's eyes, Brady's eyes, Wilson, etc etc...they have/had the eye of the tiger when they were/are on the field. Dak is an easy going, cool dude, you want to hang with, not lead a group of warriors into battle.

Bro. Very good points. I like the "eye of the tiger". Some guys have that some don't.

He sucked before he hurt his hand, too.

It isn't the hand.
