As Dak Prescott begins year the first new year of his massive four-year, $240 million deal signed in 2024, it’s almost impossible to be at least mildly concerned with his long-term health and wellness.

Prescott’s mobility has seen a significant decline since that gruesome compound fracture suffered back in 2020 and now the Cowboys signal-caller is generally resigned to a pocket-focused role with scrambles even falling outside his area of expertise. In an era when mobility has never been more en vogue, the Cowboys find themselves moving in the opposite direction of league trends.

It's hard to envision the Cowboys running the ball more often than passing, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see something more balanced than it was under Mike McCarthy.

This is why a RB in the first wouldn't surprise me at all. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised to see them not draft one until the 4th or even 5th, given their recent... "style" of roster moves.

For those that dont feel like reading the whole article, heres a quick summary:

The Cowboys want to run the ball more because

-Dak is injury prone
-Dak is immobile leading to more sacks
-They dont trust Dak to win games with his arm
All of that stuff gets better with age and more wear and tear, so good thing we locked him up.

Captain obvious in my big dog voice!!

This is what kill ladie has been screaming for a few years...

Maybe one end the only Dak critics that MAYBE was on to something...

Only issue is that:

1) kill ladie has still taken off their mask to be an unreasonable Dak hater in some threads

2) this brings up the question as to what, if anything, is going on behind closed doors of the scouting department of the most profitable sports org on earth

3) how was Dak able to have quite a few good production years if he is lacking skills

There have been a small few critics of Dak that claim he is:

1) slow release

2) one read

3) afraid to hit small windows

There is of course the crowd that clings to his playoff record and claim he is not clutch.

Only issue I have with the above is....there has been pro qb youtubers scouting dak that seem to suggest he is fine over all

I don't get it

This is stupid. All teams should be trying to run more and do things to help out their QBs. Are the Commanders trying to run less? lol.
They literally just traded for a $20M WR and possibly the best pass blocking LT in the league so it looks like they are moving to more of a pass first approach. Even if not Washington's leading rusher was....their QB.

You're right in the idea that teams should be trying to constantly help their QB, but you really couldn't have picked a worse comparison there. One team is trying to minimize their QBs touches, the other makes the QB the focal point of their offense.

This is a nothing burger, this will protect your qb that just came off a season ending injury. This doesn't mean the coaching staff or FO thinks he sucks.

Plus, a team just won the SB with a balanced offensive strategy.

Poor Dak, I feel so sorry for him. It's coming up on nine years and they still are trying to find a way to fix him.

Leave him alone, he has has a house to build and a girl to obey his wishes. Money not well spent, carried in a purse. Tear down another house!

Daks short comings have been a coaching challenge for 9 years it’s nothing new. It’s just the way it is, HC’s and OC’s die in Dallas what’s it like 6 or 7 in 9 seasons.
