How about slowing down the game and playing under control when needed? 1:24 on clock 2nd and 2 at the San Francisco 20 there is no reason to go empty backfield and be in a hurry the play after your running back gets carted off. Run the clock down so you keep the ball until halftime. Worst case you go in 6 to 6 .
