As a fan of the Cowboys for 37 years, my take is this. I want a Super Bowl title again. I want 1992, 1993, 1995 again. I want my boys to experience their team winning it all.

I love Romo and all he has done for my team over the years with no real credit. I will defend his play until the day I die because he has put this team on his back for years and will never get the full credit for all he has done.

And I love what Dak has done this season and what it appears he can do for my team for the next 10-15 years. He looks like the real deal and after the mess of last season, there is true hope and a positive outlook where there was none just 12 months ago.

Do you(I) trust Garrett?

The talk has been that you can't go to Romo because of the chemistry that Dak seems to have built up with the team. Don't rock the boat.

Do you(I) trust Garrett?

Because that is really what it comes down too. Will he make the right choices over the next 5-7 weeks.

I don't care whose feelings are hurt or who quarterbacks my team. I want my team to win it all. And if that means Dak or Romo I really don't care.

Do you(I) trust Garrett?

This isn't about who deserves it, because honestly, both Romo and Dak have done things to "deserve it". But this is the NFL. This is Big Boy sports. Deserving it means nothing.

Do you(I) trust Garrett?

This is about who gives my team the best chance to put another trophy in the case. Period, end of story.

Good questions. I trust Garrett to make the right decision, whatever it is. He's smart, respected, a genuine good guy--so I don't think he'll do to Dak what Shanahan did to Griffin.

his boss on the other hand?

I trust him as a man of good character and morals. His word is his bond I would guess. As a pro coach, I am not there quite yet.

I trust that Garrett doesn't make that decision.

That's true obviously Garretts not making that discision he should get to make that discision but just not in Jerry world. It's obvious Garrett would go back to Tony but his hands are tied. All one had to do is watch the post game press conference when Garrett was asked if he thought about going with Romo his body language his voice everything screamed it's out of my hands. This discision is not based on who is the best player it's about ratings right now. That could change though. I miss the good ole days when you just put your best players on the field.

JG will call the shot here and I fully trust him to find the right balance between developing Dak for the long run while also giving the team the best shot at a successful playoff run this year.

Good question, considering I don't even trust myself 42% of the time,,,yes or no kinda seems like a meaningless command decision when looking at the OBVIOUS.

good post though.

Excellent post. Romo's knowledge and experience is too unspoken and unrecognized.

Great thread but what is this notion of Romo not receiving proper credit? He's been a solid QB for a decade. In some respects he's carried the team. No doubting he's been a second tier type QB throughout his career. He's also failed in big spots as well. What should he get credit for exactly that he doesn't already? Does he deserve the credit of a SB QB or a QB who's been highly successful in the postseason? You generally are credited for what you've been able to accomplish.

to win a championship you have to have good players and org and gm that is committed to one policy and a coaching staff that is capable of winning one I guess in the end we will see if garrett is that kind of coach or just a jag

I'll piggyback this and up the ante some....he's been great and top tier some years and HAS carried the team BUT agreed that I don't get the debate when he doesn't have a playoff track record to say "we have to have him now." From where does that come from? Despite my love for what he has done there is also a reality of what he hasn't done

As for JG, I've never been a great fan but as I stated in a thread I started weeks back I've come around a little this year. We will see if it holds up. I DO trust him to do what's right more than Jerry.

So pretty much Dallas does not do what you want them to do so it becomes Jerry call and it is because of ratings? lol As for Garrett body language? lol god you are too funny. This is Garrett call and Jerry and Stephen are backing it up.

I believe JG will make the best decision for his job security, as all individuals are self-interested. What will be in this scenario, I am not really sure.

I love Dak and am so excited for him to be our franchise QB for the next decade, but I have no doubt Romo gives us a better chance to win the SB this year.

This team would have demolished MIN and NYG with Romo the past two weeks. He can light up Seattle's D and can score drive for drive with Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, Matt Stafford, and Aaron Rodgers.

I simply don't think Dak, as a rookie, is ready to make plays down the field in the playoffs required to beat these dynamic QBs. I have no doubt that part of his game will develop throughout his career, but Romo provides us with the best chance to score with these QBs and read complex defenses come playoff time.

One think I cant deny. Garrett is doing his best with what experience he has. If he's failing, its not for lack of trying.

As important as it is for Garrett to make the right decisions, it's equally as important for the front office (meaning Jerry and Stephen) to do the same. It's hard to say what might be in store for this team if Garrett had complete control but it's surely no secret that this season is on track to be extremely successful in 2016. What we do in 2017 remains to be seen, although if we have another draft nearly like the previous one, another playoff run and possibly even beyond that shouldn't be too difficult to foresee. What I trust is that this team is on the right track at present.

This is the way I see it: If we stay with Dak, and we get to the Super Bowl, most of us will be praising JG's decision.

If we stay with Dak, and we don't get to the Super Bowl, most of us will be criticizing JG's decision.

If we change to Romo, and we make the Super Bowl, most will be praising JG's decision.

If we change to Romo, and we don't make the Super Bowl, most will be criticizing JG's decision.

These type debates hinge on outcome. So I really don't worry about it. Maybe that's maturity on my part. I don't know. But I can't get caught up in the "whether I trust Garrett or not questions" (Despite my out-of-date signature). I really can't do anything about it. It's like flying. I can't do anything about the pilot. I'm just along for the ride and whatever trust I have, I invested when I got on the plane.

Jerry Jones doesn't listen to me. Jason Garrett doesn't listen to me. Yet, I'm still a Cowboys fan and not going anywhere. So whatever decision they make, I'm just along for the ride and hoping they make the right one.

Shrug.
