IMO a catch should be the judgement call of the ref. Just like it was for many years in the past. We have replay now, and any turnover is reviewed. I don't care if the player caught the ball for 1 second. If it's jarred loose, it's a fumble. Why do you have to make a football move? If you caught the ball, then spit the bit, it's a fumble. It shouldn't matter how long you had possession. Or what dance you did after you got possession, just that you had possession. The relinquished possession.

The Dez non catch was absurd. Everyone on this flat earth could see he caught the ball. It's only the NFLs insistence on defining a catch that makes things look stupid.
The whole football move thing is baffling.

How do we know this though, I hear you, but it bothers me when people say if we would have scored it would have done that and this. How do we know that the opposing team wouldn't come right back and score
Momentum changes affect how a team responds in play. That would have placed urgency more on the Detroit shoulders. That is how a single game is directed. Overcoming to make them more manageable. Rhythm is reflected after momentum is affected.

The style of attacking Dallas adjusted in the last minute and a half. All management aspects were taken out and play specifics took the dance floor then.

It does affect choices. Dallas has had problems closing out against good teams in just those narrow gaps in momentums. That first score would have given the Cowboys much more strength the first half. Dallas has tended to be less productive at forcing successes at the beginnings of halves.

or the fullback fumbling at the goaline
Ah, I thought you were referring to fumbling out of the end zone. But again, lots of teams get down to the goal line and don't score. That's very common. Especially when you don't have a power back to force it in.

I must admit, when I saw the thread Title My first thought was, a Mickey Spagnola article. lol. Hes always Captain Obvious. But anyway, Imagine if Ceedee never fumbles that ball as hes heading in for a score. We win the game fairly easy. The game wasnt nearly as close as the final score. This team will go as far as Ceedee and Dak take us. We need to own it, embrace it as a team. Thats our identity. We are not a running team. We are a fast break passing team that can boat race ya if we get a lead on you. I say lets lean on Ceedee and Cooks, Fergie and see what happens. Anything we get from Pollard is gravy.

What happened to Dak running the ball? I understand the Lions were max attentive to the run, but it seems to me when Dak is operating on all cylinders, he picks spots when the passing game backs off the defense and he can move the chains.
I thought based on how Detroit was playing the run, we needed to run a few end-arounds and also a few keepers. It was clear fairly early that we weren't going to have a whole lot of success hammering the middle.

Cee Dee's fumble. Was it a fumble? Was it an incomplete pass? Did he make a football move?

I saw a post somewhere on the internet that suggested if Cee Dee's "catch," was actually that, then explain that in context of Dez' catch.

However, I don't believe Cee Dee caught that ball. That may be grousing. However, he barely had possession and turned. The rules governing the passing game are a mystery.
Lamb caught the ball, turned and moved toward the goal line to try to score. It was clearly a catch.

The ball would have bounced off the crossbar and fell to the field if Aubrey had missed a 69-yard try. That is the only way I see him not possibly converting.

After everything I have seen this season, I believe Aubrey has the capability of nailing a 70-yarder IF the snap is good, IF the hold is perfect, IF he gets the usual amount of time and IF no one blocks the kick. Dude has ice water in his veins. Now I am going to shut up so I do not jinx him, lol.
During the game, it was mentioned that he was essentially asked if he thought he could make a 70-yarder and he said yes.

Strangest events ever. Of course it involves the refs. The tripping called on the wrong team. MM throwing the ball instead of running it at the end. Could have iced the game.

Then lions going for 2 points and confusing refs so it don’t count. Getting penalty and going for it 2 more times instead of going into OT.

Dumb play calling and decisions and once again no holding calls for Parsons but they call tripping on the wrong person and don’t notice it. Then it looked like both lions reported but refs said no. Strange.
