What Trubisky did last night is what Prescott should be doing on a regular basis. Some designed rollouts, isolated matchups for a big QB who can run. He's throwing well, but the offense should add a wrinkle that they seem to cut from the playbook. Specially if you plan on paying him in the neighborhood of 35 mil. He's built like a truck and the coaches should be taking full advantage.

Trubisky's career has been in doubt; therefore, his lack of caution is justified and he has nothing to lose.

Dak is planning to get paid, and without him, the 'Boys are done. He and Garrett are making business decisions and have plenty to lose if he gets injured.

He doesn't have to be Lamar Jackson, and he doesn't have to search for contact. What Trubisky did last night wasn't exactly career threatening. Ran and slid. Prescott can do that. Specially with some open field. Those business decisions equals losses and a guy who ultimately won't be worth that money.

Zone read needs to be trashed. I’ve seen it gain more than 5 yards maybe once this year???? Believe or not, Linehan used Dak way better. Moore is getting schooled by opposing DCs every weekend.

This idea many have on here that Dak is a mobile QB.

It is laughable!

Is he doing a RG3 decision to demand not asking him to run (business decision) or is it the coaches .. It is strange and I feel its the first one, because in previous years he was very quick to go get the yards with his legs no matter what .. this year he seems hesitant a lot even though the yards are there for him to take

I agree. No one expects him to be Lamar Jackson. But there have been times when he's had open field in front of him, and he doesn't run.
That's disturbing.

Bingo!!!

Dak ain’t going to risk getting hurt 3 games before hitting the lotto

Even a franchise tag is around $30 million, every penny guaranteed.

Time for business decisions!!!

If this is truly his line of thinking he needs to be gone.

Personally I don’t believe it is.

Why?

He's as slow as Witten. His legs are aging remarkably fast.

When was the last time he scrambled out of the pocket for a first down? It's been weeks.
He actually does look a lot more stiff legged when he runs than just a year or two ago. He's never been as fast as some fans thought, but his acceleration seems to be dwindling.

He refuses to step up in the pocket.

How many times last night did he bail out of a good pocket right into a sack? Tyron would have control of his man, but Dak would run around Tyron so the guy could get to him.

That's just pocket awareness.

He’s more than capable of doing what Trubisky did last night. Again, not looking for Lamar Jackson. looking for a few isolated plays that can get the QB in the open field. Not toss it out of the playbook completely.

I don't care how slow he is, he can run the ball instead of taking a sack in the pocket or throwing the ball away when there is plenty of open field in front of him. A one yard gain is better than a no yard/negative yard loss. He's gotta start thinking like that.

Why is he so slow anyways? He's 26 and an athlete. I know everyone isn't fast, but Russ and Rodgers run faster than him.

I don't know that I agree with that. Generally when he tried to do that it was because the pocket was collapsing in the middle and he didn't have a place to step up.

Trubiskey and Dak running are night and day difference. Not even close.

Dak runs like his pants are cutting off circulation!

Did we run 1 screen last night? I will never understand the reason for not running screens. We give up 150 yards a game to screens. Maybe our coaches don't know how the screen pass is designed. They've watched film and just don't get what everyone is supposed to do on play so they don't do it. Also, don't get me started on the shotgun run plays. I was yelling at the TV to run out of i-formation on Zeke's second td run. YELLING. They run a shotgun draw and we lose a yard, the very next play..I-formation and Zeke pounds it in for a TD. It's truly comical at this point how awful our entire coaching staff appears to be.

I'm talking about much of the season.

Dak hasn't been running since the first three games of the season.

And remember, the Washington and Miami games didn't start well in that early 3-0 run.

Now we're 3-7 since then, and Dak has been terrible except for the couple of games that he had all day to throw.

I agree that Dak should run more.

Lets not mistake his running ability with Trubisky’s though.

But yes, both got away from taking what is there but Trubisky finally started taking it again and its helped his all around effectiveness.

Dak’s turn

funny you say that, he does look slow but Jaylon Smith looks like he can barely run it is getting really noticeable.
