I mean after Jerry’s yanked him around on both his contract negotiations franchising him twice, he should’ve held out like Cee Dee. But Dak’s the QB and QB’s need to show leadership so he’s been present for all OTA’s, mini-camps and training camp. He also practiced offseason with his TE’s and WR’s. He’s done everything the team could imagine and yet here’s Jerry, once again, yanking Dak’s chain. Now Jerry’s going to sign him, there’s no doubt about that, but why he values publicity over the team is unfortunate for everyone involved.

It makes no sense for Dak to hold out because he has a high paying contract for 2024 already and if he is not signed to an extension he will become a free agent that teams will line up to sign in 2025.

Lamb was in a different situation because he had not gotten his first big contract yet nor had he made Dak-millions of money, so it made sense for him to hold out.

I think he should have held out and this circus Jerry’s needlessly created would be over. This perception that Dak wants to hit FA is just that, perception.

I didn't say he wants to be a free agent.

I'm saying that his fallback would be several other teams lining up to pay him what he wants if the Cowboys do not.

We fans have different reasons and motivations for the Cowboys signing or not signing Dak, but from his perspective, there was no reason to hold out because either way, he gets what he wants.

The only question will be if he gets it from the Cowboys or another team.

He hasn’t gotten anything yet.

Totally agree.

Also, notice how Jerry never treated Romo this way. Jerry jumped twice during new record contract extensions for Romo without causing Romo to jump hurdles for him. It's favoritism to the core. Probably other stuff as well.

Dak wouldn't sit out because, if I'm not mistaken, he wouldn't accrue the year.

He doesn't mind being a free agent, I'm sure, and playing is the way to get him there.

Not to mention Dallas had the franchise tag rights for CDL for up to 2 years. With Dak, it's UFA without any tags applicable.

Also, most receivers are in their prime at the same age as CDL. Odds are in 2 years he can still be very good/elite, but father time moves faster in general for "skill" positions.

Sorry; I am going into my 50+ season, and I have never felt so pessimistic about the Cowboys. Dak seems to be a very nice guy; but in terms of winning a Super Bowl or ever getting near one, he is a loser. Not a loser as a person, but as a clutch-quarterback. Granted, the Cowboys owner is also a loser, though he'd never admit it. He is the primary reason for the embarrassing performance since 1996. I'm tired of having my heart broken, while other teams like the Patriots and the Chiefs have dominated.

No ones begging you to be a fan. It’s your choice. The Patriots suck at the moment, but the Chiefs look strong. I’m sure they would welcome you.
