The Dallas Cowboys are a BETTER team with Dak Prescott as QB. The offense is way more productive and scores at a championship level. Thats not a realistic question. Thats a personal preference. The question is........is our coaching staff better with Dak or Rush. Which gameplan suits this team to win a championship. And WHY THE HECK can't they use it for BOTH QBs. Its a Jerry thing.

The team may be better with Dak at the helm, but he does not make a 40 million dollar difference he’s supposed to make. We shouldn’t have to establish the same game plan for a backup QB and for the starter. We should be able to rely on Dak come time for a shootout if the run game is stopped, but Turnover McGhee can’t be relied on for that.

the huge difference is the defense played out of this world those 5 games and was losing steam at the end against Philly. we gave up average of 16 points...the offense was averaging 20 points a game. there is no way in heck we would have won as many games as we did over the past 5, 6 weeks averaging 20 and the offense was regressing to the tune of 16 offensive points and 17 offensive points in the last two games rush played. DCs figured him out, and bunched everyone in the 15 yard space, knowing he can't go past 15 yards and defensive game plans became easier against the cowboys....

this is another one of those things that people use wins to attribute to a QB being good, except when its Dak.....

what's the offensive output...that's their job....score points....who is better in scoring points.

what does 40M have to do with anything? we have 20M on the cap and didn't use it to sign anyone of significance in off season and could have had another 15-20M if necessary...

at this point, every team is under the cap. who are the best players on the team to help the team....its not based on best dollar value for the output. that's off season discussion.

and 40M is what it is in this age of NFL. he is now the 8th highest paid and will drop further. that's how NFL works. I never got the mindset of people keep mentioning 40M, when it hasn't hindered us from signing anyone we wanted.

8th highest paid and dropping by the season. Do we honestly still have sticker shock? Why do we worry about how much he’s paid when that’s just what starting QB’s make?

We literally went from like the 26th ranked offense to top 3 since Dak came back.

Perhaps you were not aware of that?

Both QB's are doing just fine. It's one or the other...still good.

Dak is easier to guard Bc he cannot throw a deep ball to save his life. Defenses fear cooper rush. They tolerate dak.

Not here to bash Dak, I blame Jerry for the contract, but you've got to stop looking at just AAV. Dak is the 2nd highest cap hit in all of football the next two years, and is running out of future years to push money into quick. The sticker shock is just now kicking in.

Good post…you’re an astute fan and see it the right way. They certainly coached better with Rush at QB. They have tried to keep it the same, but they have slipped.

It is easier to slip when you have a greater comfort level with the QB. They did not have a comfort level with Rush so it was easier to maintain a strict game plan

Is that why Cooper Rush led us to bottom of the league offensive stats the whole time? This offense was terrible under his watch. Unless this post is satire, then lol if you think this. The ceiling for Cooper Rush is very low.

Cooper Rush is a bottom-tier QB that was able to win with this team and come through when needed except for the Eagles game and the Eagles are the best team in the league, not sure that is really a question at this point. Dak is able to do slightly more than Cooper was able to but at the cost of also giving the ball away significantly more consistently and putting the team in negative situations which is also why you might notice that the average points allowed while Rush was QB is lower than since his return. The way the QB plays has an impact on the offense and on the defense.

The real question we need to be asking is can we find a QB that's better than Dak and for less? I'm not sure at this point given the cost of QBs basically you have to get lucky in the draft, but what I do know is that we are never going to win a SuperBowl with Dak as the QB at $40M unless the salary cap goes through the roof (but remember this also means it does the same for other teams). Dak needs several pro bowlers around him to even approach being a top 10 QB in this league.
