Dak wasn't right why not Rush?

If you believe that Cooper Rush won't be on an NFL team next season, you have no clue what you are talking about. Let's bookmark this thread and come back to it next season.

Have you seen Rush play? He isn't an NFL QB either. The only thing he is is cheap.
No, not in a regular season game with the starters.

In the last 2 years, Dak is 1-13 when the team wasn't in the lead at halftime. We know that and we don't know what Rush could have done.

Anyone could see that Dak wasnt throwing well. He has always had a tendency to throw high at times but he was really off and with the word out that his shoulder was injured wouldn't you think that Garrett woulda sat him to see if Rush could get a spark in the 3rd quarter. The guy knows the system so why not.
The 6 drop passes didn't help either. I appreciate Dak the leader of the team stepping up and making no excuses but the players around him needed to step up knowing he was hurt. I also blame the coaches....time for a change.

As soon as a couple of us suggested that Rush may be the better option IF Dak cant throw, some forum members lost their collective minds. They would rather have the outcome that we received, than have to see an able bodied QB get a chance to win this game for us. In the end it just exposed Dakotas failure to win a big game against a weak, weak opponent.

Well, if he could have hit a wide open Tavon Austin, he probably would have won the game. But they are never going to put Rush in a game unless Dak has a major injury. Still, there is a reason there is no vet QB behind Dak on this roster. He has to feel comfortable.....

Dak basically handed the ball off to Zeke all last week and that was by far, the most impressive win of the season as a team, including run blocking from the OL perspective. Zeke basically carried the team against a AD led defensive front and Dallas even made a concerted effort to run in the red zone ending their red zone efficiency woes for one game. The ‘finger injury’ obviously played a role in how Moore called the game.

The next game Dak throws over forty times a game. I guess this Dak passing offense is really about not letting Zeke shine, but do everything to justify Dak to the world.

Rush can also hand the ball off the Zeke. In fact, that would give Dallas more reason to run the ball over and over again. But that is ultimately in the best interests of the Cowboys, even if unintentional.

Rush hasn’t played with the first team, including its OL. It’s utterly idiotic to compare Rush with our weak depth with Dak and the first team in pre-season. We have seen Dak when he plays with the second and third team and it’s nothing to brag about.

We also saw Rush light up pre-season a couple years back. I’m pretty sure he can hand the ball off the Zeke and make some needed throws here and there.

People don’t get it. It was another opportunity to re-establish the running game, but we decide to throw 40 plus times and that too, after Zeke totals obliterated the Rams.

Rush sucks, that's why

I’d have actually settled for Rush this game because at least with him in there, it’s doubtful we’d have given up on the run so much.

I guess this begs the question....if Dak is your franchise guy and is hurting, do you trot him out there next week with the small opportunity to win the division at 8-8. Is it worth the risk? I ask this because the team can throw caution to the wind and use it as an excuse. It's the Cowboy way.

Rush looked good in pre-season his first year, then terrible the next year, then this past season he looked pretty good. I don't think he's a franchise QB but I'd think he could be serviceable in a backup role. I'd really like to see how another QB would do on this team with this roster before throwing a crap ton of money at Dak.

Because he's trash? This team got cute at the backup QB position once again.

I love the Straw-man argument set up by some here. Dak not being an Elite Qb and Rush Cooper being the next starter have nothing to do with one another. We dont know enough about Rush to give a fair definitive on him but we have seen enough of Rayne Dakota. We dont even know if Rush is good enough to be backup at this point.
