Dak - We were definitely supposed to win this game

This feels like someone who wants to ace their math test but doesn't want to get into the nitty gritty and do practice problems cause their parents told them they are super smart.
Then they get a D.
Just showing up and thinking you are going to win isn't going to happen.

I don't have the irrational hate for Dak, but it's comments like this where I just want to move on, for the better or worse.

What is going on in that locker room? This quote from Dak actually makes me more convinced that the coach is a cancer for this team. He has them convinced that this was a game they were “supposed” to win? This is the NFL you POS! Any given Sunday! You don’t just walk in and win. Plus we were 2-2 not some dominate 4-0 team? This is reaching some lows I’ve never witnessed before. I despise Dak but even I need to admit that the coach is destroying this team completely. They’re softer than they’ve ever been under the Dak tenure.

This was an Arizona Cardinals type of loss
This is far worse
I'm not arguing that but Daks success is somewhat tied to CDs. Like Darnolds success is based on JSN, and Burrow on Chase, and Purdy on lots of his stud receivers and McCaffrey. If CD has an unlikely game, Dak is gonna have to pull some magic tricks.

And even on a bad night with his top receiver for some reason with a bad headspace moment, and having 2 of his passes picked with tipped balls ....he still came within 20 yards of tying the game, before....surprise surprise another tipped pick.
This.

He isn't a Tom Brady caliber of QB that could win with anyone at receiver, RB, TE etc. To be fair, most QB's in history need good support. Just a fact when it comes to Dak....he won't make the rest of the offense better than they really are.

Embarrassing? Just like the AT&T employee who said it to you and you want him thrown out? Anyone see that video of someone telling Dak, embarrassing? Dak asked them to be thrown out. Not going to look good for you GOTI
Me thinks the employee was calling Dak Prescott’s performance embarrassing, and Dak tried to reframe the criticism as disrespect toward Tampa Bay and coach Todd Bowles. Saying Dak played embarrassingly doesn't take anything away from the Buccaneers. Both things can be true: Dak can have a poor performance, and Tampa Bay can deserve credit for executing an excellent defensive game plan.

"We were definitely SUPPOSED to win this game"

Well. That's a great mindset to have after you've been in the league for a billion years. I'm sure walking onto the field with the assuming the game is in the bag helps with preparation and intensity.

We were definitely supposed to win. At least he's not entitled.

Hey....this attitude of assuming the game is in the bag because they're playing a cupcake team.. . This MIGHT explain his career failure as a playoff QB !

I mean...if he thinks wins are in the bag against his favorite creampuff matchups, maybe he also assumes his team will lose when facing a really strong team in the playoffs. He's admitting he makes assumptions about games based on the opponents....why wouldn't the converse be true as well against powerful teams?

That does in face kind of match the eye test, to what we all see of him in the playoffs (wide eyed, she'll shocked, making nervous spaz like decisions with the ball. That's it! He's ur classic bully-sissy! Puffs up against weaklings....tucks tail and shivers in fright against the strong....even before the game even begins!!!!

Finally. Code cracked.

It’s been a loser organization for 30 years now staring at the top. Had Parcells not come in and lucked into Romo, the past thirty years would be even worse. Jerry is a “rebel” gambler without a clue in this industry.

I think the boys thought they could just show up and win this one
:hammer: What made him think they were "definitely supposed to win this game".
It tells me they looked at the Bucs 0-4 record and read their own clippings. This is why I said the team isn't mentally strong in another thread. That starts with coaching and leadership........approach EVERY game like you are facing an undefeated team.

No excuses..........Everyone knows Todd Bowles will blitz the hell out of you. It's no secret and the best way to beat a #2 offense is to keep their a------- on the sideline.

He said it in a way that was Jason Garrettish. You don't fully commit to the answer. What a fan wants to see is someone who is fully pissed off and says this is not going to happen again.
Only he says that all the time... then it happens again... then he says it again... rinse/repeat for going on 11 years.

As a fan I really don't want to hear him say he is pissed off and it won't happen again, because they are just an empty word salad slogan to him, this team, the coaches, the front office, and the owner.

Caught in the moment n all, I know I know.

But thats the last 10 years for you right there. That's how every Cowboy incl. the FO looks each morning.

The befuddled look should never appear on the face of a competent QB.

As you practice so shall you play. Go back and watch Aikman's interview about life after Jimmy left the Cowboys and look at the passion with which he talks about the lack of effort in practice.

If I’m Jerry I’m calling Belichick and having a serious conversation about defense, coaches and Dak. I’m telling him it goes no further than our conversation. He’d say fire the coaches they suck and so does your QB. Never wins big games!

This game should've been a lay-up and our team showed up completely unprepared and gutless. This performance was an indictment of the franchise from top to bottom.

that's it. right there. he just said it. that's the problem with this team. they drank their own koolaid. they thought they show up and they win....

to me that's coaches fault for not getting on them all week so they don't take tampa lightly. Johnson would never let that happen and there are stories about that.
this is freaking NFL. everyone can play when you are not prepared.

and Dak...shut the hell up. just shut up

I saw that and it just epitomizes who he is. He is soft and everything has to go his way. Jerry’s loyalty to him is a significant reason this team is where it is. Jerry is blind to the fact that he just doesnt have whatever “it” is that it takes to get over the hump. Everything has to be “Dak friendly”. Apparently now even the folks who line up outside the walk back to the locker room must be “Dak friendly”. This team will continue to go nowhere as long he and his feelings are catered too. This goes back to his rookie year. Would he be good enough to win it all with a good defense. We’ve already seen in years past - he is not.
