Dak's happy feet

After watching the big win on Sunday night I noticed something about Dak that I had not seen before. He has got happy feet. Instead of taking his drop, planting his feet and throwing he is trying to make too much happen. This is resulting in missed throws, unnecessary sacks and the plays to break down. I did not notice this about him his first two years.

Do any of you agree with this assessment?

I think this is likely because of the amount of pressure he has been under. That and not trusting the play call.

I do believe that in the right system and with the o-line settling down this can be corrected. I just wonder if this is something the coaching staff is even trying to focus on. Maybe leaving Williams out of the starting line up for the remainder of the year until he has some time with the S&C coach can help.

I am open to opinions.

Collinsworth pointed out his “shuffle” in painstaking detail on the throw that nearly got Gallup killed on the sidelines. Instead of planting and decisively letting it rip, he took like five gathering steps, which not only led to a poor throw, but allowed the db to close the distance

His footwork fundamentals have been poor going on 2 years now. For me it is one of the most disappointing aspects of his play. It is something that coaching should be correcting and it simply isn't getting done. You would think in the two off seasons since his rookie year we would see progress on it but it is regressing.

Man,you guys SMH.
He won the game......I am happy, are you happy?
He completed 72% of his passes and almost died on the hit from Bennett.
Don't forget that he drove the ball down the field when the team needed to answer.

What else can he do to please this crowd?
He can fix a glaring flaw. Winning a game doesn't make his footwork any less of an issue. We won this game, but it will cost us an opportunity to win a game in the future.

Yes...he does have happy feet on occassion. He also has a bad habit of bailing out the back of the pocket.

He has always thrown off his back foot so that isnt new.

I believe having been sacked a league leading 32 times has everything to do with the happy feet. For perspective, he was sacked 32 times all of last year, most coming in the 2nd half of the year....

Simply unacceptable with the amount invested in the line.

And before anyone says it ..i i know some of the sacks are on him but you can also point to the 20+ he has gotten away from...

He is developing himself much like Romo did (because there's no one on the staff capable of developing a QB).

Yes he has happy feet and it seems the one thing that calms him down is letting him run a little bit. He needs to be able to run early in the game to get his confidence up and get in some type of a rhythm but Stephen is a meddler...

Mechanics take time. For some it is natural. For others it is not. He made some really good throws also. Several that kept alive drives. Does he get a hundred? No. Does he get a 90? not sure. I will give him an 87 since we are grading him. If Collinsworth can see it you know the coaches can. Think they need to tie his feet so far apart with a rope. Been watchin too much Rocky. lol

His feet are trash b/c his eyes are trash.

When he sees it, he's fine.

I'm being serious when I ask, because someone asked me and I couldn't come up with an answer. Has any notable QB ever come into the league with poor mechanics/habits and corrected them? What I've seen is that under duress, QBs tend to revert to their natural inclinations.

I'm in New England, and the discussion started with Bledsoe, who had issues with patting the ball and hopping before throwing. He never corrected that, though Parcells tried and tried to get him to stop. He had a supremely strong arm which made up for a lot of problems, but he never stopped with the patting and hopping.
