Dak's numbers nearly mirrored by opposing QBs

I was just looking over Cowboys players' stats and something caught my eye. I knew the Cowboys were struggling in pass defense but I guess I didn't realize the numbers were quite like this.
Notice the stats in bold.

Prescott's numbers are beyond impressive but the opposing QBs, collectively, are statistically very close to Dak. So yes, we're fortunate to have this rookie QB playing this well but essentially, the guy who has taken the NFL by storm with his play is duplicated in our collective opponents, if that makes sense.

Just something I noticed. Discuss or discard.

Need a complete defensive overhaul this off-season.

Dont be dramatic. An Injection of legitimate front 7 talent will get the job done.

Jaylon Smith will help alot. Just add A couple of edge rushers, maybe a DT and we've got a super bowl defense.

I don't live on this website like some other people. Guess I missed one of those important discussions here.
What does this site have to do with you noticing the defense's struggles?

I'm not surprised that opposing QB's are doing pretty well in some important categories against us, such as comp. %, INT's, sacks, yds, YPA. This is mostly attributed to our bend don't break philosophy on defense. We let teams move freely between the 20's for the most part. Our defense still doesn't manage to come up with a bunch of turnovers either. The comparable TD's doesn't surprise me either because we really are a run first team. I'm sure that if you compared our running game vs opponents running game it would tell a much different tale. This further describes the underlying fact our team runs through 21. The media has really latched onto 4 and for good reason, but the true most valuable rook is Zeke.

The only positive caveat I'll point out is that some of those numbers do include garbage-time stats, which obviously is not the case for our own offensive numbers.

The Chicago and Cincinnati games come immediately to mind, where our defense helped produce blowout victories that were wrapped up by the fourth quarter. But I think Dalton and Hoyer might have combined for something like 5 passing TDs by the time it was all said and done due to the mop-up time situations.

Yep, our defense is very middle of the pack, but our offense is what we're built on and controlling TOP. If we ever have a game like we did against Minny but the other team has a competent offense we will get squashed. We have to win the TOP battle and outscore the opponent to win, period.

This thread is specifically about the numbers of the opposing quarterbacks when they play the Cowboys. Those quarterbacks are 1-11.
Dak is not 11-1 against opposing QBs and opposing QBs are not 1-11 against Dak. The Cowboys are 11-1 against opposing teams and opposing teams are 1-11 against the Cowboys.

It may appear to be a distinction without a difference but it's not. It's important we don't fall into the trap of assigning wins and losses to quarterbacks. Silly media thing to do.

I get your point, but in all fairness this has been going on for a long time and is part of NFL culture. Remember all the buzz about Tom Brady's record against Peyton Manning? This was discussed by the media because it is interesting. It's just a natural thing to do since the quarterback position is so important and they are the leaders on the field, moreso than any other sport. But of course you are correct that it's ultimately a team game, and that's the way it should be viewed.
